my MOT run out on the 9th lol

am i right in thinking tht if i drive my car to the place I'm still covered coz I'm on my way to get it down,

like if I'm pulled they cant do anything coz I'm going to have it done now like ???

does it make my insurance void by not having valid MOT ?

yes you can drive to a prebooked MOT test. If it fails you are allowed to drive it back home again or to another garage for repair work to be carried out. Although if it's found to be dangerous to drive then the garage can refuse to let you drive it away.

Insurance is a grey area really, my policies usually say that the car must be in a "road worthy condition" but doesn't actually say it has to have an MOT. I would just go for it, I've done it in the past.

i tried to do this recently, i was told by vosa and the dvla, that if its to a pre booked mot, there is no limitation on milage so you could drive 200 miles (like i did) with no tax or current mot.

Your car does need to be insured, some insurers put a clause in saying the car must have a current mot, which meant that two of the quotes i got i couldnt go ahead with them as i required them to cover me regardless.

my car is insured and they are doig it over at my uncles garage :).... so I'm safe to drive there ... its bout 30 miles out of where i live lol ?? is tht ok yer ,

Not having an MOT isn't an endorsable offence anyway.

i drove round for 3 months without mot i wudnt worry that much about it

Apparently, from the 1st July the law changed.

If you dont have MOT, you insurance is still valid, untill you have a crash?!?!

Anyway, my MOT ran out, didnt know, drove for a month then got pulled by the Firearms unit in the hench BMW jeep.

Because when they asked me about it, i said i didnt know, i have to go to court!

If i said, yeah i know it ran out but fuck it, i would of got a £60 fine..

Bit harsh?

Does anyone know more about it?
