Why does my Mk3 not have a cigarette lighter?

unless they were tight bastards and a glove box lid was an optional extra ? lol

mine didn't have either so i bought one from 'frauds for about 8 quid, which inevitably broke

and I'm pretty sure the wires for a fag lighter are already in there under the dash on the left side

the whole polo range is pretty much like lego
