My new project - 93 G40

Featured Replies

thanks guys!

these are in order - they will do the job keeping me from flying around :)

next step is to weld all holes and fixing all rust after the styling, move battery to boot, will also roll the arches and perhaps new springs/coilovers in the back to lower it to the same heigt as the front.

also ordered 65mm pulley-wheel - the chip is originally for 68mm but i guess it will run OK with 65.

Looking tip top. Good work!!

Looking very smart now 8-) You've done a good job on this, giving it a new lease of life :)

I personally dont like the vent in the wing, but if you do then its all good

neither do i, but haven't got hold of a new wing and hood yet. i'm focusing on driving and enjoying the little racer before the snow comes, so the bigger mods will come as soon as i find a place to have the car during winter.

thanks for nice comments!

very nice my friend.

Where did you get the seats? Do they have a website? My friend had some of them and I've been after some for a while.

very ok to sit in once you find the ideal angle, but as all seats with non-adjustable back they aren't comfy sitting in for hours...

question, guys - i measured only 12volts from my alternator, which should be around 13-13.5 i believe. could this affect the engine and software and the signals passing around in the chip etc?

Oh my god, I want your wheels sooooo badly.

Looking good mate!

:o no no no no daily driving in none of them haha golf looks sweet get a shiter for a daily :D

thanks guys - i really like the revo-rims on the golf, its a pity the snow will fall soon and steelies with wintertires must come on

If the voltage is low it could cause the ECU to get the hump yes, below is a link to a very helpful diagnostic guide posted in the FAQ:

thanks - nice link! i'll probably have to look around for a new alternator. is the alternator the same on regular 1.3/1.0 litres as on the G40?

Awesome!

Actually like the erm, vents? in the passenger wing

I love the way you put the polo away and come out with a MK1 golf as a daily

some better pictures of what i consider a "finished project" - the result of a couple of days effort is an ok dailydriver ready to roll through winter :)

not usually a fan of the gold wheels, but damn you pulled it off, keep up the good job

I couldn't drive a purple car, so won't pass comment on that one...
