Ouch not good when an engine reaches >600 degrees :-(

Cheapest option would be to find a spare G40 block with head, but if you are determined have a really good car then overbore and forged pistons is the way.

Wossner do forged sizes 75mm (stock 1272cc), 75.5mm, 76mm and 77mm (1341cc) which you should be able to order through performance engine builders fairly easily.

I think PhilJ has a new set of the Accralite 77mm forged pistons for sale, although with the higher CR these produce i'd go with a standard head gasket if chosing a turbocharger as a blower.

can you put liners in?

oh dear, someone had a leaky battery!! trying to save weight?

melted piston club member. hope i never end up there..

Not good Ross, I've still got a scrap block and head that looks exactly the same lying in the workshop.

I picked up a good spare engine and dropped it in after fitting a flowed and rebuilt head.

1341cc has to be worth a shout though if you are going to hang onto it for a while.

the heads are the same as a 1.3 only thing that is difrent is the valves and i am just puting the g40 valves in it

Not forgeting to swap in the double valve springs and camshaft as well :)

The sodium valves will have to be used but i think you will have to have the valve guides worked for the larger valve???
