Didnt the valve stem size change somewhere between 1990 and 94? so that all polo valves then had the same size stems or something like that.

There we go, I bought a 1.0ltr head & had to have it worked by a local guy who did me a shit hot job for £50.

I remeber trying to find an uncracked PY head & it was impossible then!!!!

Didn't think I was going mad!!!!

was it the early or later heads that changed?

i know early cars had 2 pressure sensors and later only one but what about the valves? the ones on mine are 8mm and its a 92.

i dont think there is a set date i think it just depends what vw had at the time. you can press the valve guieds out and change them

powder caoting is the way forward..i did wonder if that part was the tank strap thing but decided it wasnt.

i found its actually cheaper in the long run and yes saves hours.. I got charcoal canister holder, fan cowling and calliper carriers done for 10 quid...

well over the past week i have done some more work. got the new valves ground in to the head and put all its bits and bobs back on:

got the bottom end striped and gave it a paint:

someones been busy!

exhaust manifold looks very smooooooth

happy to see the injector jackets going on as the injectors look naked without them.

blocks looking proffesional. you need to get some pistons up it soon. and get the two halfs back together then its not far of G smile time. :-D

edit: i thought you were tidying your garage today so you could get the G in, looks very full again :p .

gave up cleanig richard.

the gt is going to go up to my lock up so there is lods of room in the garage for the g40 and mabby sumit elss
