Mk2 Loon on twin 40's finished

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Thought I would post this up now as my car is almost finished. I have one favour to ask though, please can someone email me an original engine bay shot for a similt car, as regretfuly the only one I had is now gone. So all engine bay pictures you will see are all with new mods.

I can't wait to drive her and once I have I will post the details and BHP figures.

Cheers

P

This is how I got her,

Here we see the begining of the twin 40 conversion. At this point the car was fully poly bushed, and also had G-laderseight blocks installed.

As well as, G40 break callipers, black diamond pads, black diamond slotted and cross drilled vented disks, G40 TCA arms and lower strut brace.

Cheers thanks

that looks awsome!! Good work!!

whats it like to drive??!

Bay porn! :unibrow: Love how it sits on those G60's aswell... really nice mate!

Oh my this has come on a long way since i last saw it :o

How i would kill to have my bay looking like that i havtn even started mine .

Absolutly cracking job though mate . What sort of power do you think your running ?

I think putting a realnaut 5 washer botttle and a small header tank in either the scuttle tray or the inner wings would smarten it up a bit ..

Maybee get a Mk3 golf Air Flow Meater also would smarten things up .

Ahh i cant qwait to get ym bay looking half as good as yours .. Keep up the effort mate 8-)

Like a little beast! hehe,

@ Stealth, cheers dude, I also have an ally strut brace to in, so the header tank will be sorted at some point. I am really loving it at the moment.

Thanks to the rest of the guys. I dont have any interior shots but it is just as clean as the outside. I also have a MK1 GTi steering wheel fitted.

As far as power goes, before the carbs it was puting down 67.9 BHP and 81 Lb-ft. So the general feeling amongst my German friends is I should be looking at close to or just on 100BHP. So As soon as I know I will post up! Wish me luck! hehehe

Hey you should of come over and said hi! LOL! Well I missed inters this year due to fitting the carbs, but yeah keep an eye open Ill be around for sure!

Cheers

What engine is it? 3F bottom end or stock MH/2G? What camshaft are you using, any headwork?

It's lovely 8-)

Standerd GK cam, bottom end is stock. The car was running a GK manifold with a 2e3 pierburg. At least I think thats what it was. Don't have the parts now. I know according to the owners manual, from stander this motor produced 55 bhp. So lets see what it brings.

No head work yet. I just want to get it running first then as time goes on I can improve the setup. My main goal now is to make it reliable and drivable enough to go to german etc. Once I am happy with that, then I will start playing more with cams and head work etc.
