heres my bare metal rat look polo gt for sale!!! the car was originaly black and i bought her a year ago from a lad in sheffield, it was fully standard when i got it so all the work has been done by me and some from a local vw specialist garage. i repainted the bumpers and tidyed the whole car up and then decided it looked like every other black gt in the world so i decided to bare metal it. i know its not everyones taste but i always fancied doing it to one of my cars and thought i'd test it out on this one. whoever decides to buy her can either keep here as she is with a little surface rust on her to give it that ratty style, or a quick 20 minute sand will bring her back to bare metal and shes ready for a respray whatever colour you want, I've done all the hard work for you...

only selling due to finding another car that i love and need the money, and yes its a dub. I've just got back from bug jam at santa pod and i was at big fat tour in bridlington and scarborough so you may have seen it in the flesh.

whats been done to her...

custom made front coilovers (by polo performance services down south)

mk1 golf rear coilovers ( the car is very low and clears the ground at the rear by 2 inches so not guna get you over many speed bumps )

german number plates (not on the car in the pics)

clear front indicators

imported german tinted rear lights (the ones with no reverse light)

modified back box mounting (for more ground clearance)

new dizzie cap, rotar arm and spark plugs and temp sensor

had new throttle body when i bought her

also had a head gasket done and timing belt just before i bought her a year ago

all bumpers,arches, side skirts and plastic trims repainted black

dewipered at rear

2 6x9 speakers in a custom made box in the boot

stickered up the osr window

wheels been painted mat black

nearly full volkswagon service history, serviced before i got her and serviced by me after i got her.

just had 2 new front tyres, all new wheel bearings, all brakes checked, new wiper blades, stripped out the carpet and cleaned and jet washed off and refitted,

i apolagise for the crap pics, you cant see just how low the car is on them but i will try to get sum more recent ones up for you...

Things that need attention...

2 days ago the sunroof clicked at me when i was shutting it and now it wont open but its stuck shut so their are no water leaks or anything, the MOT runs out in a couple of months but I've replaced and checked everything already for it, tyres, brakes, sills etc... the tax still has 5 months left and she isnt due a service for anther 5000 miles, last service was a full servive and she had all brakes stripped and cleaned up, all filters (air and fuel filter and plugs) oil changed and gearbox oil checked.

no coz its only surface rust and the reason i did it is because its different to everything else you see so its sort of one of a kind... I'm going to harewood house vw festival in it if i aint sold it by then so feel free to ask me bout it

think theree trying to say it will rot like a peice off piss, but bump for a sweet gt i love it

i wouldn't give you £13 for this. you can get a verry tydy gt with mods for 1300. this is a comady car. and rat look is for old cars that have pateenerd over years not just some numpty with a grinder or nitromorse going mad. and the its a 1 of a kind comment is bull s*@t every 1 and ther mum is stripping the paint off ther water cooled cars to make them 'RAT' .and befor you say it I'm no key board worrior and i will be at hairwood house and will say it to you face if i see you so dont cum with that 1 and yes i cannt spell in advance

You've pretty much wrecked the body on it now, and £1300 for a car thats going to rust to bits guaranteed unless it gets a full respray is a joke.

anyways I'm verry intrested in the car but i realy think the price is a lil steep, yes it sounds immaculate inside and the service history sounds fantastic but the bodys just bugging me!

posts are a little harsh, i sold mine just over a year ago for £1100. engine work done )chip, ported+polished parts) lowered, ats classics etc. dont know if it was too little or not!

the only problem mate is that you have limited your market!

not everyone has the money to re-paint and not everyone wants 'rat look'

sorry mate interested then, 1300 is way over the odds for a car that needs a full bare metal respray and is only going to be worth about that when its done. its fine saying its only surface rust but it won't be for long, rust is like a cancer if it isn't treated it will become terminal pretty quickly. its a shame because it has a great spec and you've obviously spent a lot on this car but this is a classic example of why you should only 'rat' shit cars.

imo the only way you will get any kind of money for this is to either drop the price by about 800 (and probably loose a massive amount of cash), or put it back as standard as you can and sell the car off cheap and try and get as much for your parts as you can. either way i very much doubt you will get any where near what you could of got for it with tidy body work
