Ok i'm in the middle of make a false floor and sticking a sub in the middle.

What I want to ask is, whats the best way to hold it there?

Should I just put legs on it, if you got any ideas please let me know, or even pictures will help.

I have already made the faluse floor to side, all i need now is a sub and need to carpet it

thats good cheers, problem is I'm raising it alot more then that, its a mk4 so extra deep boot lol.

the just add extra battons in the boot, having legs wouldnt be the best thing i dont think. but I'm no expert never had time to look indetail to a 6n boot

yeah, if its got "legs" it might move around?

But I can't think of any other way to do it?

thought about making beams of mdf/wood along the bottom to support it?

yeah, I don't think the beams would be high enough, need it high enough to drop a sub into it.

Ok here is what I got planned.

saw indy do it in his false floor and thought if it was actualy needed?

you need a box for the sub to work, itl soind like shit otherwise, it has to be the right size for the subs specs too, and if its ported the port size counts too.

and at idan, it youl need a crossmember running at the front and back to ridgid it up.

My box isn't filled, but the edges are sealed.

Never seen or heard of a foam or cotton filled box. Expanding foam is usually used to fill spaces around the sub box to help to secure it more, but isn't neccessary.

some people use cotton wadding inside the box as this slows down the displacement of the air inside the box and gives the subwoofer an 'illusion' that the box is actually bigger, hence producing more sound and hitting lower frequencies

not sure whether it works with all subs or boxes and how much of an advantage this actually gives though

I'd also like to use my boot space so I'd want to protect the sub if I need to fill my boot too.

Would a sheet of perspecs set above this be ok, or would this again effect the sub?

I'm not exactly 100% sure but i think the box is just to make it sound at its "peak" so if you're happy without then fine. As far as I can tell though that's the only reason.

Another trouble with this is all that wood is extra weight, slowing us down for drag racing with lambos at the lights!

They do have an enclosure, it's exactly the same. You can't have a non enclosed sub.

Why do you want a spare wheel? Carry a tin of tire weld.

With my build I could still have a spare tyre, I've got the spare well still. I also have alot of hidden boot space under the floor which lifts up.

To be honest, don't do it if it ain't gonna be practical for you and you can't live with it
