Another trouble with this is all that wood is extra weight, slowing us down for drag racing with lambos at the lights!

Would a sheet of perspecs set above this be ok, or would this again effect the sub?

If you wanna protect your sub buy a grill for it. You can't fit a sheet of perspex, the sub will just blow it out.

The air movement will still try and break the perspex tbh. The best way is to use a grill over the top of the sub which is bolted down.

Plus, how are you actually thinking of doing it, imagine building a perspex box over the sub, it would look quite weird.

They do have an enclosure, it's exactly the same. You can't have a non enclosed sub.

They are still enclosed though. The other side will be sealed in a box exactly the same way a "normally" mounted sub would be.

Indy what material did you use to cover the false floor??

if your going to make a false floor for you sub, you need a box. if you dont use one, itl sound shite, and your aswell take it out. defating the purpose of makeing a false floor for you sub..

and 3/4" mdf is damn heavy, depenting on the size of your sub, and if the box will be ported or not, youl nee a good lot of timber in total, betreen the box and reenforcing it, aswell as the false floor..

look are you makeng it just in the boot or are you takeinf out the back seats?

if your takeing them out, dont bother with the false floor, bed out the hole back, like a van would be flat untill the front seats. then build the right sized box and leave it behind te seats, and youl have a hole heap of boot space!

I have made the excect same as image 3 and 4 and its carpeted.

Its raised 6 inches from its orginal position will this be enough for a sub?

If I can be asked to make an inclousure for the sub ill carry on but we wil see.

I'm not at work for a while not so I've got time on my hands, just no money to buy a sub.
