Featured Replies

Hi Guys, just thought i'd show you some of my photography.

For those who don't know HDR is a technique where you combine multiple photos going form light to dark meaning that the whole dynamic range is covered.

I use a Nikon D40 a tripod and Photomatix and Photoshop CS3.

The Pistachio green 6n is my beast!

The Rangey rover is my dads pride and joy

Whats the distance between you and me? (Portsmouth)

Not to sure of any decent photo shoot spots but if you ever find some let me know and i'll come along for a few pictures

they look awsome.....so do you just take a set of photo's in the same position at differant apatures??

HDR frankly rocks, but only works in certain situations under certain conditions, for example the 6n pics in front of the blocks of flats work the best by miles, type-cast HDR imaging, very very good effort mate

@ McTangus

3 different exposures, under, normal and over exposed. Then can use photomatix to create the HDR photo.

typically is different shutter speeds, same aperture and same ISO

HDR is cool, but not really a fan of it to show off a car. My mate took loads of HDR shots of mine in the snow and it looked mental

The land rovers and broken polo shots are really nice, usually HDR is waaaay overdone and looks a pile of computerized shit.

3 different exposures

3 different exposures? I use 7+! but yeah thats right you vary the shutter speed and keep the same ISO and aperature, and you get these results, the reason why the foresty ones look so grainy is becuase they were shot on a very high ISO ready for B+W Conversion!

cool man, i'm sure i'll be down there soon, then i'll go location scouting, then PM you and we can re visit on a shoot!

Looks mental, love what it's done to the paint on mine but it's made the bumpers look odd. Might have to try a bit of Photoshoppery on that with the original pic.

hdr + Car shots EPIC FAIL!!

only one that works is the moving landrover

anyone care to explain how to do this, I'm new to the slr world, sorry if its a daft question?

does your camera do Auto Exposure Bracketing ?

yes mate i believe it does, still learning at the min haha

i like how yu can see the improvement yu have made in the first post from your first HDR to your last :)

does your camera do Auto Exposure Bracketing ?

i tend not to use AEB. doesnt give enough of a spectrum... its better setting it to manual and adjusting exposure manually :) means yu can take 5 or 6 shots and have then spread quite widely apart ;)

but thats just me. sometimes yu can get just as good results with AEB :)

heres a couple HDR's from me :)
