Ok some of you may remember i started my bready conversion last year (GT engine thanks to aron) and just as it was about ready to put on the road it vanished. now after months of waiting and debating with the police and eventually the local council they decided to tell me that they (the council) took and crushed my pride and joy. Now i am waiting for a settlement as they are still being asses about it and want receipts and 'proof' of all the things i bought for and had in it. Legally they should have given me 24 hours notice but alas they 'forgot' about that now so i lost my bready. Justice will be served and now i am after getting a golf vr6 to replace this Korean heap i have landed with.

what was there reason for crushing it? was it on the road?

the car was off the road and it was taxed tested and insured that's why I'm getting a payout for it.

they said it was worth less than 400 quid and for that reason they could take it without telling me as they though it was abandoned.

Has the vehicle been vandalised? Exterior vandalism might include dents in bodywork, graffiti, bumpers/spoilers being removed; interior vandalism might include radio being stolen, seat covers being slashed.

it was parked on property i had permission for. if you read the spec they can remove your car if its worth something so you have to pay to get it back. but if they deem its worthless they need to give you notice before taking it. now how does that add up??

iv been offered less than a couple of hundred nicker but I'm sure its quickly gonna raise to over a grand.

I'm more pissed at the fact i drove a 450 mile round trip to pick up the engine.

Thats crazy. so if they go to my local budget car place, where you can get a rough little motor for £300, are they gonna lift all his stock and crush it?

loss of property

emotional loss ( pretend you did it with your dad/son etc)

the fact they lied about it

and the fact they didnt give notice

you have a real strong case, and i bet in the end youd end up with enough money for a VR6 and van....

ok now have a quick update, like i said i was gonna get more they just offered me 1k without substantiation so now i need some receipts for stuff. i already gave them a list but have no receipts what so ever could any one help me out with receipts for:

Brake disks and pads

Brake shoes

Fuel lines

Lift pump

In-line pump

Injectors

Fuel rail

HT Leads

Spark Plugs

Coilpack

Air flow meter

Air filter

Oil filter

Cam belt

Water pump

Clutch

Alternator
