My New Car..

Featured Replies

.. will be with me shortly

I know it's pretty early on to be buying another car, but I'm gonna take bits and bobs off of it, put them onto mine for the year then switch it all back over when insurance won't be such an issue.

So to the main story, me and my dad set off on the 250 mile trip to pick up the car this morning, about 40 miles left to go and there was a pretty loud thud and the car suddenly swerved to one side, luckily just leaving road works on the M3 so only doing about 50mph. Pull over onto the hard shoulder and the offside rear wheel is smoking under the centre cap. Pull it off and it's obvious the wheel bearing was completely fucked, and being a sunday there was nowhere open nearby to get it sorted, so here's the poor polo awaiting the AA truck

So that put an end to our journey, stuck the car on the back of the truck and got taken all the way back down to exeter, switched over vehicles to be towed the rest of the way back down to plymouth:

Absolute pain in the ass :x so borrowing a mates trailer on thursday and cruising up in the Quattro to pick it up instead (a tad more reliable )

I'll update this on thursday with some pics of the new motor :D8-)

Plans for this one:

Nab bits to use on the genesis for the year (interior etc.) while we sort the bodywork out on this, as it isn't too great atm. Eventually; full respray in steel blue and build it back up taking suspension etc. off of the genesis in a years time. I want to have a go at refurbing the alloys that came on it as they dont seem too great, just for some practice. Silver lip and black centres and stick them back on.

All in good time, after i have finished buying a few last things i want to get for the genesis.

Brilliant

i want a gt :).

how much did she set you back?

well done on passing your test, after your 13"s of your gt,very good tyres on my teardrops need some refurb but would look cool polished, reason for swops is the tyres are to big for my breadbin cant afford 4 smaller tyres so looking for some 13s. maybe we could meet and have a look at the polos cheers paul

yeah that sounds alright, the 13's are a bit curbed and could do with a refurb aswell, as said in my post i wanted to try and have ago but i'm willing to swap for the tears if you want them. tyres are good aswell, plenty of tread, i think they're 165/70/13.

Wow. :|

Why didn't you just fix the 1.0l?

Gt looks tasty though. I want that powerrr

it broke while we were on our way up to get the GT :puke:

but its all fixed and back on the road now, the GT was going to be for next year but plans have changed now. It appears its had a front end ding at some point and its a bit bent in some areas, so i think i'll be GT-ing the Genesis in a year or so :p

but I'm gonna put the interior in it (so comfortable) and have the rear bumper so i can lose the towbar :D
