Are you thinking of buying one...?

I thought they were 90bhp.

yep GL's are 90bhp, wouldn't be more than that, 8v GTI's are only 115bhp

so they are or they aint 100bhp?, 90 would still suit me just wondering what they all are..

(just looking at the release date of the 100bhp in the 1.6 gl only made them for under 18 months so they are pretty rare

I thought your were on about the 1.8 GL as they are 90bhp as standard and are well slow! haha.

That 100bhp 1.6 must be the same engine as the Polo Saloon with the 1.6 100bhp engine.

do you think it will be nippy enough? i think it would be a great upgrade from my 1.3 genesis

Well I have been in a 1.8 mk3 with 90bhp and it wasn't really anything to rave about. Maybe an extra 10bhp would make a difference but I doubt its anything to write home about.

i agree, but will be faster that 1.3 spi for me :-)

had a 1.8gl for a year, not very fast at all but fun to chuck round corners, not very nice on the petroleum tho...

bet its about the same power/weight
