fairly annoyed at the ridiculous insurance prices for young drivers... absolute piss take when you're buying a 500 quid car and getting quotes like this.

yeah guys i really dont understand where they get 4 grand from!! i was insured on provisional with them, and that was under 700 quid a year (still high but nvm)

and i thought i did blank my adress out haha.

Try Churchill they quoted me cheaper than Quinns. But they don't allow modifications till your 25 mind.

Foxie edit your post, he has blanked out his address now

one but not the other one!

I was on quinns while i was learning, that was cheap £850 but as soon as i passed they asked for that again, so effectively £1700, now I'm with admiral and thats gone back down to £850 no hidden extras!

I've been with quinn for a few years now and they always been reasonable.. even with 6 points (3 now :D )

I'm 21, 3 yrs ncb and I'm payin £430 for my cl coupe. They even insured me at £680 for my 'rocco gt2 when i had it! (TPFT tho, not full comp... not worth it for my cars lol)

^^ Thats stupid amounts though!!!!!

I've been insured under my dad for the last 3-4 years while i've been away at uni etc, I thought it would be a nightmare when I finally get my own policy in terms of prices but i did a bit of ringing around and managed to get a quote of £600 for the GT with brentacre or £800 for a Jetta GTi 16v. Pretty chuffed considering i'm 22 and haven't had my own policy yet.

Looks to me like you need to ring around, it's always better to ring and speak to someone face to face...

Thats how Quinn make there money if you have a provisional licence its dirt cheap but as soon as you pass your test the prices rocket up. Although if they can give cheap insurance to provisional licence holders why can't anyone else?

Even after mine went up when I passed it was still only £1150 for a 1.6litre polo at 17 with no ncb

price is dependant on so many factors, even seems to vary from day to day when I was getting quotes...

I'm with quinn direct and i payin 875 on a provisional with my dad as a named driver lol

I'm with quinn to paying 895 for fully comp 1.4 16v lowered alloys induction kit all declaired. but i think that quinn only insure you cheap i found if you have one years no claims. if you add your mum or someone on your policy as a named driver it should drop your price. i think there is nothing you can really do for the first year its a fukin rip off i paid 2000 third party only lol for a rover.

were u asked do you drink, smoke did u say yes because this puts your insurance up,,

if asked were it was going to be kept/parked that affects the price i said i keep mine in a locked garadge a lie of course but it droped the price

and did thay ask you how many miles would you be doin a year? i only said that i did 6000 miles a year ha double that an thats what i do..

it all affects price.....

that price dose sound strange u mush have said something wrong.........

I'm with quinn direct. try another quote later in the week, my premimum dropped by £100. they seem to change there prices weekly.

Who the f is that with?

Shit I'm with quinn and I'm provisional and I can't really afford to be doubling costs when I pass

simple, change, spend the afternoon ringing round different companies as mummy and daddy will pay the bill anyway :-D

you'll save a fortune! 8-)

I'm with quinn, they wanted just short of a grand for a 1l polo declared standard but they only wanted £200 more for a mk2 golf gti, i think most insurance companies just make up a number and double it
