First year provisional for me in my 1l polo mk3 - £824

Second year provisional - £524

Passed test during second year - £125 a month now (no mods yet)...

I'm with quinn, I'm 17 Passed 2 months and got a 6n 1.4 8v, coilovers, alloys, pulled arches, exhaust, different interior, all fully declared and I'm the main driver and its £2200 fully comp.

Pretty happy with that, seeing as all other quotes were in the 4k range...

Shit I'm with quinn and I'm provisional and I can't really afford to be doubling costs when I pass

simple, change, spend the afternoon ringing round different companies as mummy and daddy will pay the bill anyway :-D

you'll save a fortune! 8-)

Unfortunately I pay everything

Was paying £892 when i was on a provisional, 1.4 polo tdi.

Now since I've passed, For the same car, £3,200. Trippled in price.

If you modify it your best with adian flux.

I'm 20 2years ncb 700, bin with quinn two years there shit even though they quoted me cheaper thn flux i wont stay:

got:

alloys

suspension

lights

seats

exhaust

Bad wen you claim can never get through, they're all irish etc etc flux know what there talkin bout

If my car was standard id have don with direct line who will quote me 550 they're gd bt again they dont understand mods.

Another thing bwt quinn they charge u wen u pass £400 i paid, theyr bad if u hav a non fault accident, they say uv got 3rd party on other vehicles bt thats not true, the list could go on. avoid!

egg insurance sorted me out on my 1.3 breadvan. I'm 19, 0 no claims , 2 years driving - £450 happy days :D

add parents as named drivers, dropped my quote by alot! :)

although, direct line were still cheaper. but cant mod till 21. soon changing after my yrs NCB tho :)

BD postcode mate, its a idiot.

just got quoted £8127 by aviva for my mk2 (not a typing error)

Woah! and I thought £4.5k from Flux was insane.

All insurance companies have put they prices up over the last month, my brother has been looking at buying a car over the past couple of month and he's now getting quotes nearly double to what he was getting all from the same companies

Just tried a quote for a 999cc mk4 with 1 years named driver, no pass plus, no convictions or points and third party fire and theft.

Thought i'd try my own house first...£2161.55

Then my place at uni...£1186.64

Bearing in mind my house resides in a class "D" area and this is going up to a class "C"

Try Brentacre Danny, sorted mine out today, 1,3 8v, 19 1yr ncb, driving for 2 years, no convictions and 1 claim. £1000, mods declared even though cosmetic mods are free with brentacre they won't effect your premium, although i've been given a 100bhp limit at the fly, which i dont see i'm going to break without an engine conversion or some serious engine tuning.

You can get a 1.3 running 100bhp :p

Plus, can't change yet, gotta wait till my current insurance is up and then gonna swap to Brentacre when I'm actually 19 haha.

Well yeah a 1.3 g40  would need serious messing about with different bottom end, cams, full system, P&P and so on. That crazy Dutch guy Jarno has a 1.3 that he's messed about with and I bet he's seeing the best part of 100bhp

Well the 1.3 GT lump to get to ~89bhp all you need is the 8k chip, philJ straight through, 4-2-1 manifold and some head work. So can't imagine it being that hard?

I wouldn't drop a gt lump in my 6n though, I'm on about getting 100bhp out of my mk4

100bhp from a 1.3 bet thats a task.. buy a 1.4 valver engine... Easier :D

just got quoted £8127 by aviva for my mk2 (not a typing error)

Express Direct wanted £9,999 off me for my 1.6 Polo. I'm virtually middle aged.

Comparison sites were useless for me,i had to tick boxes to suggest i could be 125mm down, and 'non-standard engine' could just as easily be a V8 as they never took the new engine size.
