Points were given based on the place you had been voted for on the voting sheets. 1st place got you 5 points, 2nd place got you 4 points, 3rd 3 points, 4th 2 points, 5th 1 point. This is the ways it's always been judged in the past and seems to be the most fair way of allocating points.
