I just wanted to say thanks again to those that did behave well and made the show what it was, i really don't want us to get a bad reputation and have similar hassles at other shows just because of the odd few trouble makers.

The appologies from those concerned are much appreciated, and i hope that people are reading this forum and will be a bit more considerate next year.

I hope things are cool with the VR6 guys, i was there from Thursday and what i don't think people realise is that Billing did mess up with the bookings and the organiser even said that she had got confused and didn't really know who was who, i think she had a panic about our numbers and had intended to move us to another field, but I spoke to her twice when i arrived and she assured me that the Golf's had been moved to another field, hence why we put the marquee up, had we known it was us that were supposed to be in another field then of course it wouldn't have been a problem. It then transpired that there was an issue with the electric hook ups and we were asked if we minded if the VR6's stayed in the corner, which we didn't have a problem with, of course I wasn't going to insist that they moved but i was a bit concerned, although i don't see why it was a problem as we are all VW's and should all be able to get along just fine.

The balliff guy was going backwards and forwards for ages having discussions, i think everyone had got confused by then!

I do think that they should have seen if they could have moved in with the mk4's or seen if they could get some electric elsewhere as it wasn't ideal where they were and if we had as many cars there as we have in previous years it might have been a bit of a squeeze, plus with having to drive through the gates past us all etc, if we had known on Thursday and hadn't put the marquee up then we would have gladly given up the field and moved.

I also don't think any negative comments made towards each other were all by our club, i heard a few less than friendly comments when we were marking out the show and shine area, and not just on that occasion, so i don't think we can take all the blame, even still that shouldn't have happened there was just no need.

still everything seems to be ok, i've spoken to billing and they don't have any problems with us which we have to be very gratefull for.

I don't want all the younger members on the forum to be tarred with the same brush as the odd trouble makers, and i hope next year people can show a bit more maturity and not spoil things for the rest of us.

We are finalising the dates for next year already and it will be either the first or second weekend in August, so the VR6 guys can avoid us if they like

That's good to read that. Glad I'm not the only one that noticed a few of the VR6 boys being less than sociable. I think every single one of us Scottish lot ended up telling people to turn music down on various occasions with the worry in mind that we might not get back to Billing next year.

Was very nice to finally get to a field full of polos! The people I were with all had a good time, was enjoyed by all!

I spoke with Gaz on sunday morning about helping out with membership packs and stuff, being an unemployed graduate is slowly doing my nut in so if you would like a hand with that do let me know and i'd gladly help. Would be nice to put something back into the club as I was proud to be part of the club over the weekend. :)

Just so's you're aware, I was the tallest chap with a skinhead with the VR6 guy’s n gals. Despite my appearance, I'm not a narrow-minded yob.

PLEASE be aware that this is my opinion and take on things. I'm not trying to start something as I found lots of members’ club polo to be chatty and pretty good all round guy’s n girls

I do remember you marking out the show and shine area and I do remember a few comments passed about our lot about that. They weren’t supposed to be offensive or upsetting, just our take on the whole situation that billing put both of our clubs into. To be honest, we, at first thought that you were taping us off from the field, so that's why the comments were passed. We soon realised you were taping off a show and shine area and 99% of the comments were just silly jokes thrown about by tipsy men relaxing and having a laugh, even if they were on the childish side ("is that our part of the field then?...lets go park on it"), that was about it. Yes, childish but all in good humour.

When we arrived, the bailiff moving backwards and forwards came across on a couple of occasions informing us that "they said it's there field and they booked it and you need to move", not the best thing to arrive to. We at first were told that you parked in that field because you wanted to be with our club, true or not, we were flattered and hoped it would have been a good idea. Then the "it’s our field" comments came across and we just decided to let billing management decide, eventually keeping us there.

Spending pretty much all weekend, aside from the Saturday downpour, stood next to the cars with several other of our members. Nearly all weekend we didn't have that many people talking to us or trying to talk to us. The polo club members that did were spoken to properly and in a nice manor. We are a very welcoming and friendly club.

Friday night was pretty much fine. Saturday is where the problems started and cracks began to appear.

2 lads from club polo peed all over several toilets and were heard to remark "ha-ha yea, lets see anyone try to use these" on Saturday early morning...most of the cubicles were swimming in urine and several handles had been smeared with crap. The same lads visited the toilet later to admire their work but found it cleaned up and were understandably upset.

Later that afternoon, on a visit to the shops, someone shouted "vr6 w****r" but I was too far past with cars in tow to pull over and have a friendly chat about why that sort of comment was used....I never once revved my car all weekend btw.

That night both I and another member on our own on separate trips to the toilet were subjected to abuse and aggression, more so me.

I was told to F off by a girl of about 16, (from a club polo camp near ours) stood in the male toilets next to the urinals, clearly unable to handle her underage drinking habit. I asked politely for her to stand outside as it was the male toilets and I needed to use them. "F off you f ing w****r", instantly aided by the 2 lads from before that peed all over the seats, told me to f off, clenching their fists, before walking out giving me the eye, obviously confident with their beer aided abilities to "mess me up"....LOL

Then an item or two was taken while we were asleep on Sunday morning.

As stated though, people have popped over to our forum and apologised and we really appreciate it. Hopefully our apologies have not fallen on deaf ears over here.

I notice most of the people on here complaining about our club being snobby, old and ignorant can’t actually put a coherent sentence together. Most of the people bad mouthing our club about how we closed a bonnet were also the “chavs” that you have problems with anyway.

I apologise on behalf of our club for any ill feeling we gave the good majority of the polo members, that was not our intention. You're a good bunch. :-D

Tbh thats the whole 'Scene' now, it was bound too happen the 'chavvy' variety of people where everywhere at Bugjam rumour has it there now taking over 'Run to the sun' which are renound too being very 'Cool laid back shows'

Think next year you need too just set out stricter rules anyone playing loud music between 12-8am get kicked out no exceptions and other ASBO behavior 1 Strike and there out rules should apply TBH!

Well I'm glad that everything is cool but there are a few comments I would like to make as well.

I didn't like how the friday lunchtime arrivals all piled into the field at once after being parked over on shelduck for a bit. It was like you had decided to rush the gate as a show of strength/defiance. Which was intimidating in itself. Apart from having a one sentence conversation with the guy who arrived first, that was the last time anyone made an effort to come and talk to us. We didn't exactly hand out the olive branch either though, so we are both guilty of not taking the initiative in sorting things out amicably immediately.

As Liz said we would have been quite happy to use shelduck ourselves as there are some nice camping spots under the trees and it's nearer the better showers, but the marquee was the deciding factor. The Bayliff gave us the option to evict you but we didn't want any trouble and you kept your promise and stayed in the area you asked for, so thanks for that.

The ukmkIVs used the electric hook up on our field with a long extension cable chucked over the hedge. I only realised they'd done it when I was round the back of the marquee on the sunday. Could've been an option maybe? With the benefit of hindsight it's easy to pick holes though I guess.

Apparently on thursday night some local yobs came on site and nicked a few things out of peoples tents (people can just walk in via the bridge that leads to the restaurant on the main road) So some of your things might have been pinched by those guys, not by people off club polo. Apparently it happens alot, hence the very tight security. I wouldn't like to call it either way just be aware that there were other factors involved. Another hindsight, we heard about this off one of the ukmkIVs organisers so I hope he made you guys aware as well. Otherwise I'm sorry that we didn't mention it and I hope that what was stolen can be easily replaced. :)

I had a chair nicked on saturday night from the PPP gazebo and on sunday afternoon someone nicked a chair from the same place! Although the latter could have been a mistake by someone as we were all packing up.

I heard on Friday that there has been people going around on the rob on thursday night, apparently someone was woken up to the sound of their tent being unzipped - I guess one of the ukmk4s guys?

I had no idea the toilets had been vandalised. That's just appalling behaviour.

I didn't realise things were that bad either, I hope the people responsible are ashamed of themselves, I wouldn't expect that from a five year old, let alone someone who is presumably old enough to drive.

Well Liz, it takes 2 to say hi, I guess we should have made the effort too, but I think that we felt like we were treading on toes and with what was said by the baliff, we didn't bother. We didn't want to make matters worse or disturb you. I can't speak for everyone, but I'm a big softie, though everyone there would have been shits n giggles anyway. We just figured if we kept to that corner and out the way, we would have been okay.

Yes, you shouldn't have to babysit either. We didn't speak up to the chavs...an analogy of this is "another parent telling off your child"....we didn't want flak or fall out from this as we didn't know what ground we stood on with you all. With some of the comments recieved, we were pretty much quiet toward you all......vr6 guys having a go at us polo club members.

The bloke you got hardly a sentence out of is very quiet anyway and barely talks anyway, though he is a decent bloke. I'm sure you can relate to turning up at an event with no friends, being quiet and then having to try and respond to a group of people already camped in the same field that billing messed with. He honestly didn't know what to say, he even said that to us as we arrived lol.

Yea, we didn't want to get in anyones way and I do believe that an electric hookup was payed for by a member of our club, thus a factor as to why we stayed where we were....and your kind ability not to evict us, we just wanted to keep out of your way in the background as it were.

The driving in wasn't meant to intimidate or show defiance. We were told that we were sharing the field with you, so we drove in....then obviously the baliff came over. Besides, you had about 8 - 10 cars when we arrived and we didn't realise we may have got in the way at the other end corner lol.

Well it was nothing important that was stolen, infact I believe it was a newly bought hula hoop lol and another cheap item, theat was found to be in possesion of the chavs, that argued the toss about giving it back when asked by one of our female members.

Nevermind, I'll make more of an effort next year if we should cross paths again. I just think it felt like an uncomfortable stand off. Why we were shown animosity by some, is anyones guess, but we're not perfect either.

Chav element have now taken over the RTTS event in Cornwall. I was only speaking to Steve S about this at the weekend. Whereas the supersoaker guns there were once filled with water, now its likely your car gets sprayed with piss or even worse brake fluid!

Sounds like its the same chav behaviour with the toilets at Billing :(

edition is in danger of going the same way to be honest, there was enough trouble there last year and a lot of people obviously on a lot more than just beer in the marquee there. be interesting to see what happens this year.

From storys being passed around i can see Edition getting out of hand on more than one occasion.. evne the div's that tuned up here were on about going to Edition because 'anything goes' so everyone needs to be on their giard a bit and not leave valuables etc out.

Our tent was pitched right at the bridge that crosses the canal and we all said

at some ponit that it looked like a public footpath...it was a very heavily used

short cut by campers and locals to get to a pub on the other side of the canal.

I lost my wallet on Sunday but i don't know if it was stolen or i lost it but my

credit card was used but declined at a service station in Northampton at 4pm.

We won't be camping at that bit next year thats for sure....

least thay did not manage to use your card mate. the fact of the matter is you cant trust eny one.

think next year wee shoud camp in the bottom corner so wee can get a power plot

I never ever saw anyone acting remotely dodgy around out tent so that is a wierd one, at least they haven't been able to use anything.

I'm in agreement with being down the bottom end of the field next year, maybe get a better nights sleep there.

The chavs are taking over the country!

I went o Shambala (a nice hippy festival) the last two years, but last year there were loads of chavs there tipping toilets when people were using them. Disgusting.

Really gutted I wasn't able to make it to the Polo show this year. Double booked my family holiday plus in the process of fixing my Polo after an accident, but will defo be there next year. Can't wait to meet some of you guys and gals.

I went to talk to some of the UKMK4 guys and the one with an even stronger geordie accent than panda told us they'd paid for the electric, hense the wire chucked over the hedge!

i didnt go to poloshow as my car is not ready and not been bumped! lol just an idea but maybe we should have a joint show? as were two of the smaller clubs, it could make the rent for the field cheaper?? maybe with bigger numbers of decent folk we would show an example of good behaviour to the chav members and cut it out? i know i would have gone over to the vr6 boys for a chat as i adore vr6's (a vr6 polo is my dream car lol) it could cut costs, aid the reputation of vw shows (that r going down the pan behaviour wise)

and for the record i wouldnt be intimidated by anyone because i would have summoned all my ninja focus skills and if any one f'ed with me i'd have filled a pillow case full of bars of soap and beat the shit outta you, CP, VR6 or MK4 lol

must say i had a great time and did not realize all this had gone on , the rubbish left on the field after the show was mental . it would have been beter if it was atleast in a pile .

anyway the thing is as the scene get`s bigger and broader the more idiot`s are going to follow , their should be some sort of dubbers test . rtts is not the place to go as all the dubbers go down the road to another smaller gathering . bugjam`s got the right idea as they charge more for non dub`s , but their`s still alot of idiot`s in their .
