Short term insurance

Featured Replies

Well my first year of insurance runs out on Friday and I have already told Churchill I don't want to renew my policy for £800 because from 28th September I will be a university student for 3 years and can't afford it.

However, edition38 isn't long away and I want to take my car to that to get the full experience of the whole weekend and was wondering what companies are able to provide weekend, or monthly insurance?

Churchill gave me the option of renewing my policy and canceling it when I go off to uni for a canceling fee of around £27 but I am really trying to save all the money I can.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Yeah, you'll really struggle being under 25. I keep trying to get weekend cover on my old dears z3 but it doesnt happen, only option is to take out a policy and cancel it i think.

But that works out expensive as they charge fees for admin and cancelation charge and you loose the deposit you put down..

You tried tempcover.com - seen it on t.v dont know how cheap they are though.

There's a link on brentacres website to one.... pretty certain they do under 25

i tried was under 25 couldnt find anywere , so i just got normal insurance and canceld it got charged 30quid for like 2 weeks insurance then £25 setup fee payed 200 for the first month and got refunded £145

Endsleigh, swinton and ecarinsurance do it if your under 25. I'm 21 and have insured with ecarinsurance three times.

i got insured for 1month under my GF's insurance and only cost £68.80

I don't know if this helps, but before i turned 21 i had 2 weeks to go and the price (once becoming 21) was about 300quid cheaper. I found out that you have 14 days to cancel without charges so took it out with anyone and just cancelled it on the last day, i wasn't changed and got most of my deposit back (you only pay for the amount of days used.).

Day insure? I did that when I was under 25 but not for a whole weekend. Think it works out about £20 a day
