Decided to try and sort them out today. 2 price comparison sites same info.

Confused.com gave me:

cheapest was ibuyeco : £285 w/£350 excess, all the quotes were between this and £689 (Chaucer Direct), then there was this: Quinn Direct at £4967 WTF!!!

Comparethemarket.com gave me:

SwiftCover @ £282 w/£550 excess, i think not, but ibuyeco came in next @ £293 w/£350 excess, all were between £282 and £697 (ASDA), and yet again the odd one out was Quinn Direct at a staggering £5395 w/£250 excess

Dont worry, i phoned them up as well and got quoted £5100, asked her if she was kidding, then she asked if it was competitive with other quotes id had and got a big shock when i said what the cheapest one was

So if you own a 1.3 mk3 polo, been driving for 7years, 3years NCB dont even bother with quinndirect.

There's something seriously wrong there mate!

I'm paying just under 1600 on my 6n with no NCB and all mods declared!

Do the Irish not like the Welsh or something!?

Yeah dunno what's gone on with quinn I did a search and its about 4k. Still the cheapest for me at the mo, first year on my 1.8 mk3 golf was 1500, next year with 1 years ncb was 750, then near the end of the year I changed to a mk3 golf gti 8v it was an extra 39 quid for 3 months. Then the renewal, 750 pounds bargain 63 a month then thought id downgrade to a 1l mk3 bready and 40 pounds a month now. But recently I bumped in2 a ka, slight dent for me, 1100 worth of dmg on the ka. No idea what the renewals going to be but judging on the quotes I've done and what people have said on here and golfgtiforum don't think ill be taking the renewal from quinn lolz

How can she have been shocked when you said what other quotes you were getting? Quinn have obviously decided not to offer competetive quotes for our sort of age groups because they dont want to insure us. I'm posotive they dont expect to sell insurance at those prices.

your welsh? well that explains it then. :-D

It's like Quinn don't actually want anyone's custom. They quoted me £4400 on the rocco with 5 years NCB.

They gave me 850 for my mk2 1.3 on a provisional but I know it'll double at least when I pass but I have been offered 7k before by swinton, on a car worth 200
