Featured Replies

my car broke down and whilst being hitched up to get towed the window fell.

i have had a real problem with the window it has never worked properly since i had it, it would go down perfect but when it came to winding up it kept stopping it went up with some encouragement.

any ideas on what could be wrong and parts i would have to buy to fix.

sounds like you need a new motor/regulator. Quite a common problem

That will be the clips that hold it on the runners. I had the same problem on my electrics. I just went down the scrappy n got some new clips that bolt/hold the window and clip on the runners. They just twist/clip on and pop the cable on. The clips are the same on the manual and electric btw.

Also a tip - wind the glass up and down fully before tightening the bolt. That way it aligns the window perfectly.

Hope that helps mate...

i have a written off polo 5 door can i take the clips off the rear windy windows or the passenger side?

a similar thing happened to the drivers window on that.

Mine did the same mate. Had to get the part from VW as no scrappys ever had any 6k's in.

I thought it was just the clips in mine too, but because the steel cable had come loose, it wrapped itself around the winder and started shearing off plastic - so I had to replace the entire thing.
