Wishbone Bushes

Featured Replies

I am replacing the rear of the front wishbone bushes on my 2002 Polo 1.4 TDI every 3 to 4 thousand miles, I have been told this is a common fault - is this correct?

I have enquired re powerflex bushes but they only have a voided insert and not a solid bush as a replacement. Am I barking up the wrong tree or is there something I'm missing?

Never heard of having to replace wishbone bushes that frequently!

I'm assuming your a standard road user and not into rally racing etc ...in a 1.4 TDi that is! :)

Sounds like either your not correctly seating the bushes in the first place, or there is too much wear on the components already (ie the wishbone itself) leading to a looser fit, which leads to movement and failure.

Something to think about...

Sorry - cannot respond on the Powerflex Q?...

  • 3 months later...

is it a 9N or a 6N2

if it's a 9N the standard bushes are voided for extra comfort apparently but as you know they are crap i replaced mine with the ones from a seat ibiza cupra for my rear subframe and rear wishbone bushes and i use powerflex for the front wishbone bush. And all is well so far it is a very common modification.

Hope this helps pm me if you need more info
