alex866's 6n2 tdi

Featured Replies

owned about a year now. have blacked out a lot of the exterior, lowered the suspension, put some nice rims on, and just recently had the ECU remapped.

model 2001 black magic 6n2 polo

engine 1.4 tdi remapped up to about 100bhp

suspension JOM coilovers (highly recommended for the price, good reduction in roll, and good comfort above full wind down)

brakes standard discs all-round, with red painted calipers

wheels currently on 14x8 RH cups with 195/45 tyres and 15mm spacers.

exterior depo angel eyes, gti grill with black badge, gti fog and centre grills, tinted rear windows, gti spoiler, private pressed plates, stubby aerial, smoked side repeaters.

interior standard fitted matts, standard cloth seats, alpine doubledin headunit, with alpine type-r components, alpine sub, and black fluffy dice!

as it is now:

Nice looking polo you have there dude. I've always wanted a TDi. Thnk the only thing it needs now is to be lowered, but as you said when funds are right it'll happen! Good work.

As regards to the paint code - Take a look at this thread. You'll find your paint code in the front of your service book / manual.

thanks for that, its magic black then.

looks clean. but the back box thingy has got to goo. apart from that clean :)

Backbox has to go! And no way you can lower it with those tyres!

you can never say anything bad about a mk5 in my opinion they are such a good looking car, look even better lowered but like you say its that think called money.

I'm liking the headlights, they look good. get some strech on they tyres and those wheels will look 100x better.

but looking good, progress takes times.

Looks the same colour as mine so the code is LC9Z

If you think its fairly quick standard, which they are, get it remapped matey, its awesome :-D

Yep definately get it remapped. I had a blast along side Jon when his had been mapped and it does pull well! Although I was in my pathetic 60bhp 8V!

 Best £250 I ever spent on the car, still prefer driving it to the scirocco, its just so effortless! :-D

ye gota say I'm not a massive fan of that backbox, would eventually like to have it so theres no visable exhaust backbox.

and ye i have a remap on the shopping list, but as a now broke student, after the car, wheels and leathers, its gonna be a while.

and on stretch was thinking id go to 195/40 when the tyres are up for a change

always should follow the rule suspension before wheels, def got potential tho

  • Author

haha ye i would jst say that its easier to judge what suspension is appropriate once u hav the wheels u want and I've got exactly what i want :)

going to have to be coilys tho, just for the adjustment and on its hoop :) . i had to pick between suspension and wheels, rather have it low on steelies then high on aftermarket rims in the long run. whats that thing under you are O/S side repeater ? or is it just the light

for £250 bargain!!! what you take it too aswel?

found it on his build thread if you are still wondering, go to a uk dealership for custom codes and they should do it for about 250

Looks sweet as mate!

Maybe tint the rear lights a little? give it a proper stealthvagen look.
