13x8 alloys, will they fit on a mk2 polo breadvan

Featured Replies

I'm getting a set of 13x8 superlites (from a old skool mini) next week of a mate.

i know the front's will fit fine, but as the breadvan has a flat arch I'm worried about the back :paranoid:

hopefully i only have to grind down the inner lip of the rear arch.

help please

I've just had a problem with my rear arch and trying to fit some 14 inch alloys, not sure how wide they were? 13x8s almost definately wont fit under the arches. :-(

Best bit is to have them below the arch so stiffen up suspension/raise it?

arghhh feck it, il grind the inner arch down, got edition 38 coming up so i NEED it low and wide :(

anyone got these fitment on a bready?

13 x 8's wont fit with out alot of work!! Simple.

6's with minimal arch work.

7's will require alot of arch work.

8's well unless you work in a bodyshop and are a dap hand with metal (or know someone that is) you wont get it sorted before edition.

Best of doing it properly rather than rushing it. If your looking at going to edition, maybe get the wheels you have on there and make them a bit funky. Get the suspension on its lowest setting etc. Get the car clean and get your tent up out your back to make it sure it works :D otherwise it will be a night in your car. or like i did last year a day up the tree's :D

I've got some g60's on my polo atm, so il be spraying the centers a funky colour. lower the car down to 70mm all round.

cheers for the advice man, was hopin it would be a home made bodge jobbie to fit them on the back.

Yeah I'm a bit annoyed with my bready for that reason, really wanted some nice wheels!

yeah man same, fooking rear arches!

Breadvan and wide wheels = same amount of fail that Scotland just had against Norway in the football.

Just go low on your steels or get some early 13" alloys..

i reckon itl look good.

but i dont reckon il do it, due to i dont want to spend a bomb of money on the polo.

I've got 14's g60's, could slam it 70mm should look good

no such thing as 14" g60's

there the same as the g60's and are 14's i dont know :S

anyways the superlites turned out to be 13x7! not 8's

i fitted them on and they will go on.

but

the holes on the mini alloys where the studs go are to small compared to the vw studs so I'm lookin into getting the holes made 2mm bigger.

na man u need wobble bolts!

and they may be g40 steels??????

Aren't 14'' 'G60's golf cl steels?

I'm running 7" mini superlights on my mk3.. lowered it n had major trouble on back.. kept scrubbin on arches, i put phil j kit on (80-60) put the back on top notch n filled the suspension out with bumpstops what i managed to get off old susspension n mates old suspension.. haven't had much trouble since, only can do 2 up tho..

Can be done, but takes time. (Obviously mine aren't finished!).

i want 8s on the back.. but need to buy wider lips for my splits if its possible? 13" anyone knw anywhere?

thanks. gav

Well it doesn't really help that all you've said is you've got 13" splits. Some other useful information would help....

Minis offset is the main problem - a mini 6.5x13 will stick out further than a Vauxhall 8x13.
