I'm hoping someone can offer me some advice/help with converting a 1.6 Polo Gti 6n2 with a 1.8t motor. I have a decent knowledge of how they mount in mk2 golf etc but I'm not overly familar with the polo chassis. So does anyone know how easy it is to mount the 1.8t in a polo???

I'm asking as i have been offered a mint GTi with some cash for my car I'm I'm seriously thinking of taking the deal and converting it to run a BAM engine

Any help would be great

I'm thinking about it, been offered a really nice 6n2 with an engine isue + some cash for mine. Its got full leather, climate etc. Thought a BAM polo would be good fun and fairly easy to live with everyday.

I'm just trying to work out how difficult the convresion is so i can get an idea of cost. If its too much i will stick with the audi and get it up to 300 bhp ish

Sounds good, I'm happy about the wiring, fueling, intercooler, down pipe/exhaust etc but the one thing I'm trying to figure out is mounting the engine.

I'm a mk2 golf guy at heart and i understand that the polo chassis means mounting the engine is a little more difficult. Can you talk me through how you did it?

Still hoping some one can help me out with the mounting of the engine - i really want to make a sleeper GTi polo with 300bhp! I miss my old sleeper mk2 which was so fun!

Rich it still runs but is using oil and smokes a little. I haven't had a detailed look but its more than likely to the the valve stem seals that need replacing.

If i get it i would be fixing the engine issue running it for a bit to check the engine is 100% and then removing it from the car to see as a job lot, engine, box, loom etc

yep could be all sorts to be honest, need to ahve a good look at it and have a really good look over the body work to check its up to my standards! You know what I'm like
