Featured Replies

Hello everyone! This is the first time I will really show my Polo to you - And I hope you like it!

There's only one problem, the painting is bad - But I can live with it, so I think you can aswell :)

Actually, it is quite low already and I already have troubles driving in some places because the "scraaaaatch" noise will appear

What I think could be done is to get some spacers so that the wheels will get out some more, then they will probably fill the space out :)

Here are two pics from today where it's easier to see how it stands at the moment :)

Yeah man i think that'd help

and the scraaaaatch sound means your car's looking good ;]

Eeek, the fade! Get it polished properly! I think it's just faded colour and a good polish can bring it back.

If it was that easy ... It is the Clear coat that has fallen off in several places, so it is not enough to just polish it. Need a whole new paintjob :(

Looks good! I like the colour, not very common over here.

Well, I don't really hate it. I think it it quite funny sometimes. Because you can for once hear that your car is low ;)

Thanks for this good comment :D Well, I have come up with some thoughts already and started easily on the "remake". The tainted windows is gone, and I have also tried to get some of the tainting of the backlights. Will do it 100% later, and then taint them again so it will get a cleener look.

- Wow, that was a book :p

Thanks :) Spacers will probably come pretty soon. Well, I have of course thought about it, but I cannot afford it at this very moment. So a respray is a project for the future, since I would like a proffesional to do it, and not myself :p

YAY FOR YELLOW :)

Sorry its my favourite colour, I think the fade gives it character for some reason!

Here is a picture from today. Without the tinted windows, and as you can see, the rear lights is still a bit tinted.

And I can say it right now, it feels kind of wierd to drive around when everyone can see right through your car.

Welcome! 8-)

yellow open air! i have one in white and its great in summer

lovely mate, is it a 16v??

shame the paint is damaged....do you plan to respray it??

would be brilliant if so!

what make/size are the wheels?

it is interesting to see it has the 'winter pack' with headlight washers...not common at all in the UK

Thank you!

Love the open air, it is just awesome when it's good weather! It is a regular 1.4 8v - so it is a bit slow sometimes

Right now I have no plans on respraying it, waaay to expensive!

The wheels are 15", If i remember correct they are 7.5" wide. It is Mille Miglia Stefan, really rare - What I have found out about them, they are originally from a Alfa Romeo of some sort. Got them cheap from a friend of mine. The tires are 175/50.

Well, about the "winter pack", this is what they looked like when they came to Sweden. All Swedish sold Polo's have the same package and bumbers and so on.

A friend of mine had a similar car, only that he had the color concept package and 16v. He told me that he had done some research when he was thinking about repainting his own, and founf that info.

Still looking forward to see the result when you are done :)

this is how mine is looking at the minute, there is too many hick-ups on the car lol but its getting rectified slowly

Looks like you need to take a week of from work and get some job done ;)

I just got a twin today actually. My best friend went and bought a 1999 Polo GTI (1.4 16v) Open air, Color Concept. Fuck man, I am jealous!

dsc00437e.jpg

But it is still not as low as mine :DEDIT: The pic is not fair, His car is the same color as my front bumper. Will take some better pics soon, this is just with a mobile camera!
