Here we have a Classic Mk2 Scirocco a friend and I bought in January '08 to compete in the Road2Rimini Rally across Europe last September.

Here's what I remember of the list of the rally prep work I carried out on the car;

Brakes

New front zimmermann brake discs.

Mintex Extreme racing pads.

Goodrich braided hoses on front only.

All new brake fittings.

New rear Brembo drums.

Full rear brake rebuild including;

2 new wheel cylinders + new fittings.

New spring kits both sides.

wheel bearings.

brake shoes.

system filled with synthetic fluid.

Engine

Rebuilt pierburg 2E carb, with spare.

All new vaccum hoses.

New coolant hoses.

Full coolant flush.

Oil system flush + new filter.

Millers 5w40 full synthetic oil.

Top end clean, all gaskets replaced.

NEW CAM BELT.

New fan belt.

twin in-line fuel filters.

Addition of a K&N filter,set up right.

Radiator fan override switch.

Other bits & pieces

Hand fabricated aluminium bonnet scoop (made by myself and sorry to see it go!) which sits over the K&N.

Twin air horns replace the original.

300db loud speaker with microphone + sirens.

Mk1 Golf GTI steering wheel.

Sony 50Wx4 stereo.

JBL aftermarket speakers (60 quid!).

I'm sure theres more I cant remember!

The car is mechanically perfect and drove us 3552 miles across 9 European countries, without missing a beat. This is the only milage that is on all the new parts listed above.

The condition is a little rough here and there, as you can see in the pics the drivers side has some dents in it (vandalised apparently!) but the rest of the car is extremely solid and quite tidy. Theres a small ammount of rust on the tailgate and thats it. the alloys are VW montreals and have some very good goodyear tyres on.

Interior is pretty much the same, usual wear on drivers seat, split in the dashboard (common on Roccos) glove box lid is loose. There is a bit of doodeling on the headlining we did with a biro when we got bored on the motorways, however I'll try to remove this with a solvent.

The car has just passed its MOT with NO ADVISORIES, just as it did the first time around last year. Although it is a little rough here and there its a super-reliable solid little car.

We both have become very attached to this but circumstances force us to sell it We would ideally like to see it go to a VW enthusiast or someone who intends rallying it again, hence I'm advertising here before it goes on ebay..

As it is now...(the paint looks a little strange because its still half wet)

Err no.. I did mention that the car was wet when the photos were taken, sadly I dont control the weather. And as for the marks that I'm hiding the pics clearly show some rather large dents in the side of the car - I doubt I can fool myself or anyone else that water will hide those
