Can anyone reccommend a good product for returning my bumpers back to black from a faded grey.

A permanent solution is worth considering - vinyl bumper paint. Orange and silver tin,Halfords. Remove bumper,degrease with thinners,then you'll use two cans - one for each bumper.

Total cost,twenty quid (plus a fiver for the thinners,if you haven't got any).

How long does that back to black stuff last? Seems a lot of money to spend on the vinyl paint if this will last quite a while.

have put some black in a flash from turtle wax on and theyve come up really good. Just hope it lasts a while now.

I give it a week.

sillicone is the stuff go see the local polish hand car wash and ask for a bit of there tyre shine stuff works a treat and lasts for ages if not i no it sounds wired but go tescos and buy tesco value crunchy peanut butter and use that on the bumpers sounds mad but it works honest

I have been told about peanut butter by a bloke at work too actually, so there must be some truth in it. must be the oils in it. Halfords stuff is still black at the mo anyway, despite all the rain.

Was going to suggest that. put it in a tin and paint it on, leave for a bit and then buff off, re-do as needed, lasts about a week at first but if you keep it topped up the gaps between coats does lengthen, i only do mine about once a month now.

I've been using Autoglym Rubber Cleaner but like most of these things it has a time limit, of about a month, shorter if it rains!

I'm just going to bite the bullet and get new ones! they are about £100+ each but you do get some options: -

Standard front - standard front with fog cut outs - primed F+R for painting

Not sure which would look the most standard on the GT???

The most expensive option, but still an option.

Peanut butter is 50% fat,you'll do as well to use lard. Engine oil is an old one.

All oils wash off in the rain.

What would painting bumpers satin black be like? Would that not achieve the desired effect and wouldn't fade?

when people say heat gun what do they mean is it a specific tool or the crappy thing my mum uses in card making

The vinyl paint i was on about above is satin black paint. See my avatar..

PBA Vinyle Dye from your local paint supplier will do the trick :)
