Howlers polo

Featured Replies

erm, best get a thread up!!

this is how i bought it,

removed sidestrips, badges, rear wiper and then coilovers

then after a while rolling around on steels... was time to buy some wheels! i'd been looking for ages for a set that i liked... after plenty of missed chances, i finally got what i want wanted... a skinny set of BBS RMs...

it stayed like this for ages, kinda gave up doing stuff with it, then a trip to DC... i decided i really needed to get my arse in gear!!

so... off came the wheels... couldnt decided what i wanted with them, was a toss up between red and gold... gold won,

then, i had a trip round to my mates to free up the seized coilovers,

the result...

this was still too high... so we got the angle grinder out... resulted in losing 3 coils from the coilovers. WIN,

heres a few pics from VW festival the other weekend :D

Yeahhhhhh!!

that sits nicely man.

wheels are badddd, suit the car perfectly

nice job :)

Alex

BBS wheels look so much better tucked! They just don't sit right on Polo's if they poke!

Looks clean, but not keen on the stickers!

Mateee this is looking sweet as now, good choice on the rims

turned out very nice 8-)

Looks good

don't see why you needed to cut coils off on coilovers though :?

some dont go as low as others. not the yellow fk ak's by any chance?

cheers guys,

where you been hiding jack? not seen you about in ages!

we wound the coilovers all the way down... front just wouldnt go low enough... and i had some bad reverse rake, as you can see in this pic..

couldnt have that!!

cheap shitty rennsport ones... cutting the springs actually improved the ride quality of them

did they not have helper springs you could have taken out?

instead of chopping? lol

Like the BBS tho, They do suit being tucked

sweet! looks sick mate

aye as neil said, did they not have helpers in? thought that would be easier taking them out rather than cutting springs....

also does your driveshaft not rub? mine does and I'm only at the bottom of the coilies :(

  • Author

yep, had no helpers.... dont you think i would have taken them out first otherwise? its only temp anyway, new coilovers are on the way, just wanted it low for vw fest and edition.

and yeah, it rubbed at first.... its stopped now tho :D result!

Lowering top caps would've brought the front down a bit more!

yeah, but only about 10mm, and thats fudge all. might get some anyway, because another 10mm wont hurt i suppose 8-)

Surly RZ's would just Sufice if you wanted to keep them tucked??

Just my Opinion anyway,

Just my Opinion anyway,

i wish i had bigger dishes :( not too wide, but maybe 1.5 dish on backs... making them 7.5j

a bit of poke is always good! 8-)

yeh 7.5 would be good :-D think you should get new dishes!!!

the carbs were fine mate but i sold them on as my new car is only a 1.4 lol didnt want to get them rejetted as i picked up 3 points for speeding :-( lol
