aye i wouldnt expect much change from 250 notes for a set of proper decent tyres

try your local part worn tyre places they sometimes have good brands and profiles with fair good tread for pennies

Nankang 165/55's if you want a cheap tyre, don't expect to go round any corners fast in the wet though.

Depends really, never had any issues on my old Mk3, although that was only 55bhp lol

155/80 r13 looks comical, made my mk2 breadie look like a monster truck!

I've had quite a bad response with the a539s when i had them on my allys. Didnt like the wet at all, may of been down to the lightness of car + width wheels combo mind.

I found they were an all good all around tyre ..

Fulda make some 175-50's that are good my dad was running fuldas on his hillclimb car .

A539's on my mini on 12x6's the car weighs about 500kg and stick to the road like glue in the wet or dry.

Don't bother with Dunlop SP2000 or SP3000, i've got them on mine and they are like driving on ice when it rains (175/50/13).
