Storm Grey 6N For Sale ***SOLD***

Featured Replies

I'm selling my 96 Polo for spares or repair. The other day on my way home from work it started making some top end noise and i lost a little power. I have no idea whats up with it as i've not had it looked at. I've since got hold of another car so its up for sale. The car is taxed and mot'd and its still drivable though i wouldnt like to push it too far. Since i've had the car its had two new tyres, new rocker cover gasket and the cam belt and waterpump were changed 2k ago. The interior is in good condition as I've fitted 6n2 seats from a newer polo. The outside has seen better days and has a few knocks and scrapes. Everything works as it should apart from the central locking. The car is a 1.6 8v and being the gl spec it has power steering, abs, electric windows, electric mirrors, sunroof and 16v alloys.

Anyone, you would make your money back easily.

what's the lowest you'd go?

  • Author

£300. The wheels, interior and gearbox would be worth that alone!

To explain the engine problem better:

I had the cambelt changed 2 months ago. I think the garage did'nt tighten up the cambelt properly and its slipped a tooth. This has caused one of the pistons to hit a valve. This would explain the knocking noise and the fact it's only running on 3 cylinders. This is just a guess as i haven't had anyone look at it.

I have stated the car is being sold as spares or repairs!

dont suppose you could deliver at a price? ha

So, in a nutshell, the car needs a replacement engine? If so, what sort of costs would you be looking (sourcing, then fitting) at for the replacement engine?

Could be interested if costs are reasonable...

Someone shed some light on this, i've no idea how much a replacement engine would cost.

Come on people, 16v wheels must be worth £100 with good tyres alone. 6n2 interior must be worth £50? Thats your money back straight away?
