so it basically just hangs loose? as if breathing into the engine bay? I'm sure i tried this and then the engine started running funny.

i run a bmc cda on my gti with a oil breather filter on the breather pipe and have no probs what so ever!

could i cut the pipe right back to the engine and put the filter on there so its not flapping about? ( i know this is the wrong forum for this but i dont see the sense in starting a new thread elsewhere, i just want to cover myself before i consider buying one. Id love to afford the carbon one but i cant.)

mmm i ent to sure id keep the pipe the same length just incase you put your standard air box back on! mine is tucked in by the back fluid bottle on a cable tie to stop it moving

good idea, i do have a spare pipe, but i think ill leave it anyway.
