well again its been a loooong time between an update but heres some fairly up to date shots of the the doc looking pretty different after the weightloss/width add lol!

here you can see how much was removed from the front arches!!!

the new roof colour!!

heres a few of the sound deadening removed, cage footplates welded in and the bars welded in for the new seats ala wrc

all of the work has been done by an ex wrc welder for Hyundai :p

fit fuel cell and plumb in pump and swirl pot

finish off loom and fit properly

finish removing bitumen crap of the floor and paint

fit seats

trim dash to fit

make an exhaust!

other than those its pretty much there, then i can get it to work and build my Nitron shocks for it!! mwahahahahahaha

il try and get a bay shot mate

There's always something needing doing on these mk1's, i'm still doing bits on mine and that was finished (?) last year!

I feel for you scraping the crap from the floor, you'll be picking bits of it from your fingernails for weeks to come. I used thinners in the end on mine, but got high as a kite in the process.

Really looking forward to seeing the AFH conversion, i'm seriously considering the same for the other derby (albeit in a pissy, watered down way to the motorsport inspired beast 'the doc'!) Would like to have a good nosey round it to see some of the trouble spots - particularly induction. Are you on bike carbs (probably my choice for simplicity)?

not sure on induction yet, id like to keep the injection tbh but not sure how il fit a filter in!

might just put a filter sock over the tb then invest in some itb's later when i get stuck into the power mods( p&p head, big valves, massive compression etc hehe)

i love this but just 1 thing that seems strange to me if your building a performance car.

Why have you put massive burg arches on, to have stretched tyres underneath them ? I'm sure you should of gone for the max tyre size for the wheel. giving you a bigger footprint and wider birth and using the idea of the berg cup arches to max ?

What colour are you gonna be painting the arches? or are you doing a full car respray?

well the tyres came on the wheels, proper tyres are on the cards, been there done that with stretched tyres and want proper ones for this (r888's)

just was anoyed at seeing stretched tyres on something that has sooo much potential :)

no point on skimping on grip when you can have it !

That looks hard as fucking nails, i hope this turns out as good as I think it can.

Personally, I think you should run it with no bumpers, but get the front and back smoothed but keep it exactly how it is with the riveted arches and black roof, spot on that is.

well when its got proper tyres on it it means i can be low yet still have lots of wheel space

yup rivets will be on show, no poncy filler and smoothing here, iv done everything for a practical reason but tried to put a stylish twist on some bits just to make it a lil different.

i got the arches from philj on here not sure where he got them from.

although i now kno of a source for them if i ever have an incident on track.

its getting proper tyres so they wil fill the arch gap up,

plus some extra lows even though thats already over 80mm lower than stock!!!!
