god listne to you girls ranting.at the end of the day were all going to still be buying fuel so shut up and get on with it.

have a look on google and see how much money we chuck away in 1p's then you probly would shut up.

plus i cant be assed to vote,no point lol

It's people like you who back up Mclovin's point earlier. Just take whatever bullshit is fed to you by the government and do nothing about it. Does it not piss you off in the slightest that that extra tax is going into Mr Brown's pockets to pay for his/ blairs mess ups? For example, all their overspending, bailing out banks, and the small matter of them starting completely unjustified wars In both Iraq and Afghanistan. Bunch of fucking morons.

It may only be 2p but that's just the start of it, you wait!

Also a message to vee-dub, where'd you get all that crap from? BNP website i'm guessing? I've worked in shitty places and I'll tell you that the foreign people/ immigrants work a damn site harder than most of the british people. I've got no problems with kicking out immigrants who come over here and just claim benefits, but there's a small number of them compared to the amount of british people who live off the state their whole lives!

keep it calm in here or it gets locked, no personal attacks, make your point, if you have no point, dont post

no matter who is in charge there will always be problems, and people complaining, I'm not defending it, but there is nothing we can do!

i love these ' petrol prices' threads............

........... look at it like this you will go out on a saturday night spunk 60 quid on beer, probably chuck 40 quid of it on the florr or the toilet when you chunder it back up and not give a shit...

beers made from hops, which are grown , harvested, processed, brewed and deliverd to the pumps... all for about £3 a litre for arguements sake...

now petrol.... is first found in its raw form of crude oil.... its then drilled for using millions of quids worth of equipment and man hours, then pumped to the surface, pumped or transported hundreds of miles to refineries, where it goes through a hugely expensive, complicated purifying process, and delivered to the pump... all for around £1 a litre....

when you look at it like that, it aint that expensive!

id be happy to pay £2 a litre for it coz its still cheaper than a pint and puts a bigger smile on my face than any drink ever could!!!!

I must chuck £60 a week thru the Polo and it doesnt cross my mind once how much it costs....... I'm doing my bit for the enviroment......... noticed how warm it is lately

I actually almost feel guilty now when you put it like that.

We've been ripping those poor oil companies off for decades. To think Shell had to scrape buy on a profit of only US$26.277 billion last year.

i'm not looking forward to filling up the usual shell v power in the next couple of days! :|

Bullshit! No one in thier right mind would be happy paying anything over a £1, let alone £2.

Ooh this is where the "alternate" fuel options start poking their heads up.. and this is on a "car enthusiasts" website, if your saying this imagine what the next bloke (who doesn't care about his vehicle as long as it does A-B and cheep) would be thinking if a car was able to do the same milage as a litre of petrol using alternate fuel for half the price...

and it had cheap road tax and insurance..

petrol will be the past.. eventually...

..Goes off and crys in the corner and dreams of rapid alternate smiles

fuel duty has gone up and will continue to rise to cover the slash in vat a few months back, which acheived fak all. fact is this government has been playing on the enviromental problems for the last few years to make us feel and believe that the motorist is to blame chucking fumes out of there exhausts, they do this to justify taxing petrol beyond belief.its no different from the health warnings about cigarettes before they pushed the tax up on them,or saying speed kills before sticking cameras everywhere earning hundreds of millions out of us. alchohol is next thats why they keep talking about binge drinking,so beer will go mega high soon you watch. if shit was expensive theyd tax our assholes!!!!!!!

It will be a shame when petrol engines are wiped out, but a long time yet I hope. I can't imagine my drive to work being more boring than driving an electric or hydrogren or whatever car with constant torque and a horrible noise. Would be much like driving a diesel... *shudders*

but i tell you what, theres nothing worse than someone who openly admits voting BNP, i really hate small minded, biggotted people :-(

i voted BNP and i'm far from a 'small minded biggoted' person. i voted them because they were making noise about the issues that matter to me, crime, health care, the cost of motoring and yes immigration. don't get me wrong i don't want every one with a slight tan kicked out lol i just want to see and end to uncontrolled immigration (there is only so much room on this smell rock and we are over crowded already). immigration is a good thing but there is only so much room at the inn, now does that make me a racist or a biggot? i'm not saying i want a BNP prime minister far from it, but until the tories have the balls to make some real commitments to the voting public rather than just riding into number 10 because no one wants Gordan Brown or his shady cabinet in there, i'll continue to do so

besides our local BNP candidate has done some great things for the local community, unlike the labour or tory candidate who couldn't be arsed to help us out and sold us out respectively :-(

ok I'm not bitching or anything but if you guys are complainging about the fuel prices going up???

this goes for me aswell but were not helping ourselves with modding our engines are we???

bikes carbs for example, there drink more fuel then a standard injection right???

if we can do this with our cars then its our fault

one other thing aswell if were complaining about gordon then what about people claiming jsa (jobs seekers)

I'm unemployed but I'm NOT on the doll, but we all pay tax to pay for people who cant be assed to work.

well mclovin phrased that well, echo'd my own views to some respect, but like said the point has gone off the boil

fuel prices will rise, as everything else does

Is certainly true. I remember being at a site meeting a while ago and someone asked how many lads were needed to do part of the job. The guy in charge said, it depends where they're from, if it's the Latvians, 4 will piss it, if it's the english, I'll put 6 in for starters and hope I've got a couple of latvians to finish it off at the end.

Don't know if I misclicked and closed the topic or someone else did. Either way, let it roll as far as I'm concerned, most interestting read on here in ages.

i just hate paying tax knowing that my hard earned cash is going to keep some idol slobs and their 40 kids alive for another week...let em starve

for people who need some help, id quite happily help them out...and in return they could do somthing to help the community...

when it comes to benefits they get money aswell rather than somekind of coupon

so we all know that our fuckin tax is going on special brew anyway

I'm unemployed but I'm NOT on the doll,

Guessing you still live at home as i doubt my mortgage company would be happy if i said that to them when out of work over xmas.

Ok, so what we'll do is cut them off completely and ow ow, you lose your job and find yourself stranded. Be thankful that our country works like this and we have the security.

As for the petrol tax, I don't mind giving the government money to live and benefit from the state, but it would be nice for them to actually just say "OK you need to pay us more" instead the surprise taxes in the form of fee's and fines... fines are suppose to be a punishment? How does that work?! If I'm caught speeding just give me the damn points and a slap on the wrist, there's no need to inconvenience me with a fine too, I don't drive down the road and go "shit I better slow down, I'm scared I'll get a 60quid fine..." hell no, I'm more scared about the points!!

I don't always mind what the government are doing, it's just the way they go about doing it.

Next time you break you leg ask the doctor how much it would cost if it wasnt for the NHS...........................

Probably the same as getting a check up and 3 teeth drilled & filled....

petrol prices, petrol prices, dont via off lol

The amount of tax on petrol is what's ridiculous... especially when we're paying road tax...

get rid of road tax things would be a lot simpler... I couldn't tax the car I just bought because if I did it online it would go to the previous owners address... I couldn't do it in the post office because insurance paperwork hadn't come through...

i find it crazy that the government see it fit to tax so much on fuel, how can they justify taking 65% on fuel? it'll soon be cheaper to drive to france and fill up! they dont spend any of it repairing the roads, and when they do attempt a repair its a pikey job that lasts all of a few weeks.

where does all the money go? perhaps it does go to people on benifits. I dont have a problem with genuine people claiming, but i wonder how many would continue to claim if they had to earn their doll money. Surely the government could find loads of un-skilled or semi-skilled work to keep them busy, cleaning hospitals, filling potholes, clearing ditches etc. I bet a large number of the jobless would soon find a job if they knew they had to do some graft to earn their £140 a week. Granted it would cost a bit to setup to begin with, but once done i reckon it would pay for itself.
