for people who need some help, id quite happily help them out...and in return they could do somthing to help the community...

Ok, so what we'll do is cut them off completely and ow ow, you lose your job and find yourself stranded. Be thankful that our country works like this and we have the security.

if you read....people who actually need help... ie: those people who do want to find a job, do want to contribute to the country, have got something seriously wrong with them (ie: broken leg)...

i just want to cut the people off that think its ok to come out of school, get knocked up and get a free life...

I dont have a problem with genuine people claiming, but i wonder how many would continue to claim if they had to earn their doll money. Surely the government could find loads of un-skilled or semi-skilled work to keep them busy, cleaning hospitals, filling potholes, clearing ditches etc. I bet a large number of the jobless would soon find a job if they knew they had to do some graft to earn their £140 a week. Granted it would cost a bit to setup to begin with, but once done i reckon it would pay for itself.

Fuel our cars on immigrants?

i find it crazy that the government see it fit to tax so much on fuel, how can they justify taking 65% on fuel? it'll soon be cheaper to drive to france and fill up! they dont spend any of it repairing the roads, and when they do attempt a repair its a pikey job that lasts all of a few weeks.

where does all the money go? perhaps it does go to people on benifits.

Exactly our roads are shite and we get money wasted on speed cams in retarded areas where they could of been put in places that actually need monitoring

65% my ass, i bet its nearer 75%, oil is around $70 a barrel atm, consider that it was as high as $145 per barrel this time last year, $70 doesn't seem that much, it really does take the piss, and we can look forward to another hike in new year when vat goes back to 17.5%, especially since they seem to think its fair that we pay vat on the fuel duty, a tax on a tax.

i think half of the problem is we see little to no evidence of the massive tax we pay on fuel being spent where it should be spent, as has been mentioned the roads are shafted, public transport is a shambles and we are left wandering where all these taxes have gone because its certainly not being put back in to the road system.

some thing that hasn't really been mentioned yet is road tax, why do we have to pay it? surely we are already paying tax to use the roads with the massive amount of fuel duty we pay? its like we are being taxed twice for the same thing!

You get taxed going to work, tax at work if you buy food, tax on the way home, tax on your pay and tax when you spend it.

exactly last time some of my parents friends from america came over they asked why the petrol stations were advertising the price per GALLON!

my personal vews are , scrap the nhs system and privatise hospitals , have health insurance , use the same motoring system as japan where u are taxed by the milage u do mesured by a gps box in you are car and the tax is aroun 10 persent on fuel , follow australia with the imigration rules , u must have a trade to enter and no crimnal record , alow the public to see exactly where their taxes are goins , ie into which pms morgage ,

Interestingly, Road Tax (Vehicle Excise Duty) hasn't been ringfenced for spending purely on the road network since the 1930's. So it is just a method of raising money for the Treasury, not specific to maintaining the highway.

Same with fuel duty, though of course the argument there is that the high levels of taxation are there for environmental reasons. And certainly not an easy way of earning lots of money.

scrapping the nhs would be a disaster, it would leave the gates wide open for insurance companies to charge massive amounts to cover you (exactly like they do with car insurance) and you would have no choice but to pay it.

if we followed japan with the gps box thing for taxation purposes this leaves the gate wide open for the you to get points every time your car went over the limit, they would know where you were at all times, why would you want that?? its one step away from an Orwellian existence FFS!

totally agree on the immigration rules of Australia though and in having a more transparent government although i'd extend that to the banking system as well like they do in Australia

I'm voting Tory when it comes to the General Election it usually means less Tax we pay when they get into Government.

But this latest and quite sneaky Fuel price increase, which has been gradually going on for some time now is a cruel joke.

My brother is looking into the Veggie oil thing for his car. I've now started cycling its 10mins quicker to work than car! (damn traffic lights and poor road systems!), the thing is though, my fuel is now food, which also has gone up! Why because of cost of Transporting food goes up due to fuel cost going up! No longer circle of life! Circle of Tax, or Tax gauntlet!

i think all politicians are nice people, but I'm sick of labours bull shit 'tax and splurge' so if i vote conservative they have the most chance of actually getting into power

and the amount of properties iv been in where the tenants are on the dole, got a few kids, and openly admit to " cant be botherd to work",

we realy do need to invest in more education and get those people working, and if they dont like it stop the benifits!

The UK has introduced a points based system for immigration like they have in Australia and Canada for example. Though obviously, with this Government, it isn't very well developed and doesn't actually place limits on the numbers of skilled migrants who can enter the UK! Plus it still doesn't solve the problems of illegal entrants.

I have to agree with you McLOVIN about the GPS road charging scheme. It's far too easy to be abused by any Government, and they would. You only have to look at Councils using law aimed at crime prevention and counter-terrorism, to watch people who forget to pick up their dog's crap!

Back to the plot,the price issue isnt being addressed for what it is either.

When you put twenty quid in your car,the petrol station are only charging you like a fiver. Can you imagine being charged over a pound for a pint of milk,then seeing that 70p of it was tax? How is it right that you put 15 pound of fuel into filling up a Mondeo,only to be taxed a further 40 quid? And you accept that?

It isnt even legal,because the VAT is added afterwards - making the tax taxed. They get away with it because people accept it.

I suppose i do,but at least i vote,and i vote for someone who A) actually has a good chance of getting into power,and B) have always delivered lower taxes.

No chance, only car I've ever seen do that was a 205 1.8 none turbo diesel, though it was probably just as good at racing lambo's.
