Hi,

I'm new to the forum, I bought (two weeks ago) a 1.2 polo 3cylinder for my daughter its 55 plate and the current shape, it's done less than 50 miles since we got it and the engine management light has come on, it's done 19000 with VW history and has been diagnosed by VW as "cylinder No2 low on compression at 4.6bar"

The car is obviously 6 months out of 3 year warranty, but at 19000 I would not have expected it to fail in this way, can anyone tell me if this is a common fault with this engine? Is there any know history of VW responding.

What is it likely to be VW are quoting £1200 - £2000 to fix this!!
