Hi

I recently bought a fog light grille for my MK2 that only has the standard head lights.

The new grille has all the fittings, but I cannot see where on my car it would plug in.

Do I have to rewire the plugs, or should it just plug in somewhere ?. as per usual Haynes is no help at all.

Any advice would be a great help.

Should be a white block plug on each side,down where the indicator plug is, at the ends of the chassis leg (indicator is the same type of plug,so you can get them the wrong way around if you've got all the lights out. should be two of these plugs each side).

Nope, i've only got one each side, so do I now have to rewire it so that the fog wires run into the same plug ?.

I would imagine it's even more in depth than that, even with my minute knowledge of electrics.

You could swap the bay loom for one that has the extra cables,but the dash loom may not have the wiring either,and it'd probably be more hassle than its worth.

I find them worth having (mine are the spots,not the fogs - clear lens instead of ribbed),even though the weakness is dipped beam and they dont address that.

I swapped for a single light grille,but went back to twin because i missed it. I use them for sidelights too,though.

So yeah,id wire them independently. Daisy chain them on a single wire loop,with one lamp live,next lamp live,the battery live,switch input,and to the live end of the free fuse port in the fuse box. Then you can either run an earth cable all the way around with it,or id simply nail all the earth points to the body/nearest good earth (the fuse port is already earthed).
