UPDATE:-

carbon surrounds appeared today after leaving the courier a nice little note.

Clocks have been dismantled and carbon trim applied. Just gotta get the plastic screen resecured and back in they go.

UPDATE:-

had a look at the rear exhaust hangers today. One of the hooks already seems to have been bolted on?! It's the other one I'm having issues with and I can't copy what was done to the other one as there's no room to get a spanner in :(

How the hell do you do the bolts up once you drilled a hole through the hanger???

Anyway, stripped the underseal & paint back and the hooks split either side with a small piece in the middle still connected but not firm enough to hold the exhaust system up.

Time to break out the welder again

As I've gotta grab the welder from my parents, I broke the hammerite out instead and continued painting the underneath of the car and treated the hangers on the backbox as they were rusty as fook.

Managed to weld the hanger today. Will have another look tomorrow as it started raining before i could finish the job. Gonna try to spot weld the back of the hanger for abit of added strength. Got an idea to reinforce the two hangers but not sure if it'll work yet. more welding tomorrow i think.

seems the weld on the hanger was good enough :)

although looking at the other hanger, seems theres been issues before...

anyway, got the exhaust back on and all i need to do now is fit one of the rubbers properly as i forgot to heat it up 1st to make it stretch easier! Exhaust is now back to where it should be instead of on a pikey slant....

Decided I should look for the source of the oil leak today.

Removed the drivers side headlight so I could get a good look and it appears as though it's leaking out of the charger pulley seal again! Began to strip parts off so I can remove the charger to get it replaced.

Drive belt, earth strap and air intake all removed.

Began to undo the 13mm bolt holding the charger in place and my sodding socket set arm thingy (what they bloomin called?) broke :( To top it off, I don't have an Allen key big enough to undo the other bolt! Double :(

I'll borrow some off a mate and get the charger off and seal changed this weekend. I can clean off all the oily mess too whilst I'm there.

Chargers off :) had to do it in the rain which didn't help when I had to get underneath to lock a nut in place so I could undo the bolt!

Hopefully strip it down tomorrow to see what's what and give it another coat of paint just to make it shiny again.

Also, fingers crossed, this time tomorrow I should have gained an aquamist system. Watch this space
