Hey peeps, in the middle of stripping and spraying my 6n 5dr polo, can anyone tell me how to remove the rear windows...have the door stripped down but the windows don't come out the same as the front...all help appreciated!

Undo the foam noise insulation using a craft knife and being careful not to tear it.

Wind the window right down to the bottom

You will see a hole in the runner, it is an oval shape and when looking down into it you will notice a yellowish coloured ring inside another

Get some towels and bung them underneath the glass, this is to provide support so not to smash the glass

Now using a flat head screwdriver, rest the flat edge outwards onto the inner ring (best way to describe is to imagine the capital letter Q)

Take a hammer (told you it would come in handy eventually!) and give it a good whack

The small cylinder will drop out

Now taking another flat head, the outer ring is in the shape of a C, so wedge the small - head driver so it makes the ring small

Using the same method as above, whack it out!

Now the glass will be released, you will have to removing the seals around the window to make space for it to come out.
