16V Refurb Brake Uprate :)

Featured Replies

Basically i have had a 16V set up for a while and decided to start refurbing them, plan is to get some grooved discs and some decent pads :)

Any advice on what discs? Pads? Opinions on colours, i plan to have some sort of red detail, (the carriers are matt black, the caliper in gloss)

i would have painted both the caliper and carrier the same colour, you can colour the lucas text etc on the caliper in red that would be quite cool.

pads i would go ferodos or pagids and black diamond/zimmerman/brembo max discs

I posted in this thread re: green stuff pads

greenstuff pads are shit, its a misconception that they dont give off alot of brake dust and compared to ferodos and pagids they are poop in comparison.

theres also been stories of the backing plates coming away from the pad material!

ferodos and standard discs would be fine, I've go for grooved over drilled as drilled can be prone to cracking, but even solid discs and a set of good pads, braided lines and fresh fluid should see you stopping very well

Ahhh cheers man, you suggest uprating thelines then?? :)

its worth doing mate pretty cheap and you wont have to mess about with your brakes again for a long time, and youll be draining and changing your fluid when you fit those calipers anyway.
