New Golf R

Featured Replies

Ultimate Green is a wicked colour - I wouldn't have mine in that colour though. Actually tbh having driven one I wouldn't bother in general. R26.R floats my boat so much more. It's a really good car, just doesn't excite me as much as I'd expected.

Seems most people are only worried about performance! If I had 25-30k to spend on a performance car I'd much rather go with something like a second hand S2 exige. Could probably even pick up a supercharged one for that! Or a TVR. Though all practicality would be out the window...

The interior in them new ford focus ST's feels very german, Smart, i like them, Now they have some poke with a T5 engine aswell

Still, an old mk3 polo with a blower will keep up haha

line up the focus RS' with their log books and i'll gladly take them off them

Even with a big boned fella like you behind the wheel?

If I had 20 - 30k on a car, it's be an Esc Cossie ;).

Is that not just a prototype from a few years back?

they are 'apperntly' gone produce it now :)

The R-GTI is a prototype produced between VW and HPA Motorsports over in America for the SEMA show. It's got 375bhp, and it's never going into production.

which is a shame cos thats what the r version should of been pushing power wise!

i guess they dont wanna make them to fast as then it will come into the audi market

The thing is, the new S3 has the same engine, it's basically the same car underneath but (I'd guess) the Golf will be a few grand cheaper.

I love it

Something about Fast Fords and Fast Vauxhalls just makes me think they're chavvy. Well not chavvy, but I get the image of them having england flags out of their windows around world cup time etc. Just don't have the class of the VW hot hatches.

The comment above, I don't know what I mean by it, but it's similar with Top Gear when they feature Fast Fords etc they play chavved up music and call it the Asbo etc.

 Yup totally agree, and yup lets not kid around they are chavvy, typical barry boys car!

I like it alot, much prefer the 2.0T engine over the 3.2 anyway.

Don't know if I'd have one though, would be leaning more towards Audi at that sort of money.

I just creamed.. that paintwork is Ting
