I'm not really sure, the adjuster rings are 50mm from the bottom of the threads on the front, unsure on the rears, it's a little lower now it has settled a bit.

Quite abit on the car has changed recently...

Aero Wipers,

Pressed plate,

De wipered the rear and also debaged it,

Purchased a 16v front bumper, although it needs some paint,

Got a new exhaust and induction kit to make it rev abit quicker,

and I got some new wheels which I purchased from a member on here.

When I got the rims I thaught they were ok, bar kerb marks, turns out 2 of them were bent, and one of them had a fair bit of metal missing from the outer lip. I didn't see these when I picked the wheels up as it was dark, and I wasn't really on the lookout for dents or bends in the rims. Got the old tyres removed and the rims were fucked, someone has had a go and bending them back before.

So I worked on them with what I had, and they turned out alright! Because of the weird offset some stretched tyres were needed to get under the arches.

Anyway, time for some pictures,

(this was a good bit of kerbing, the rest was ALOT worse!)

On the car!

Still needs to go alot lower, left it at this for today though to make sure it didnt rub anywhere! I reckon I can get the coilovers to minimum adjustment easily...which I think it pretty good on 15's!

Better pictures to follow.

Your car is lookin good on them wheels mate :)

Are they MIM 1900's? With an offset of 13?

Yas why?

Because I have a set of them, just wondering if they go straight on...

  • Author

Yep go straight on, on 195's you will have to raise the car a little, as the tyres come outside the arches, thats why I had to stretch, in order to get it lower, and stop it rubbing.

I got them the other day and I have the same model and colour car as you...I best not do the wheels in black :paranoid:

I love them MIMs. My mate has a set but he won't give them up

They should be the official rims of the south coast! I've got a set, You've got a set and Hin69er has a set as well now!

Few more updates, gonna be a few big changes in the next couple of months though!

16V front and rear bumpers+interior, although the rear isn't finished yet. Smoothed the Toe eye cover off, the rest is standard as I'm not a massive fan of really smooth cars, although I'm thinking about filling in the plate recess.

Orange front and side repeaters back on, More lowerage, OMP targa steering wheel, custom exhaust and few other bits and bobs. Currently retrimming the roof and pillars in black Suede, will get pictures once finished.

Interior retrim, or recaro/omp buckets coming soon, plus perhaps a colour change and some different bodywork...

I took one of the bumpstrips off, and the paint underneath is fucked, so I stopped before I took the rest off.

Excuse the hideous arch gap, it will be gone once I have some archwork sorted!

I have that tripod! :D Car's looking great Tom!

Everything just about looks spot on, even with that bit of arch gap. The only thing that annoys me is the number plate isn't straight... :p

looks good!

Got a couple of new pics with my mate.

I've retrimmed all the headlining and pillars in black suede/alacantra, as well as sprayed all the handles etc satin black. Engine bay has been cleaned up alot more, deletion of charcoal canister allowed me to put a proper induction hose into the airbox.

Few changes happening this week, arch rollage on wednesday, getting my 16v rear bumper sprayed up Thursday, got a smaller plate for the front, gas strut for the bonnet, and sticking the bump strip back on!

I really want my rear wheels banded, but on the inside to make them wider, as the 7J rears really let the car down in my opinion, makes it look rediculous from behind. Is it possible to band alloys?
