Borbet A on mk7 polo been told i need to mod arches

Featured Replies

Hey :D

i just rang up demontweeks, and they said that the if i want A's ill have to modify my wheel arches, and that borbet A's dont really suit the new polos.

do my arches really need modding?

and if so, is there anywhere i can get it done, and what sort of price tag am i looking at?

cheers,

lewis.

what size and offset are the wheels and what size tyres are they trying to use

They would look mint on the car!

you can go upto 8x17 with no probs

here is a gti with 8x18 et35 - 215/35/18 tyres and it didnt catch anywhere when the customer had them fitted at my shop

I'm not too sure about the offset and what tyres i am wanting, i was hoping the guys down at demon tweeks could fit it all for me.

I can do arch mods at Wheel Mania where i work but tbh feel your archs theres nothing to roll on the new cars!

We charge £25 per arch anyway pal to give you an idea

right then you want a 205/40/17 size tyre

rim width 7.5 x17 or 8x17 offsets from et40 down to et28

the lower the et number the further they will stick out (poke)

to be safe et35 on a 7.5x17 wheel with 205/40/17's will sit sound and you could still spacer the wheels out if you wanted more poke

lol you could mate.

erm say i bought a set of borbets off ebay and a coilover kit, would you be able to supply wheels and fit the coilovers and alloys?

sorry mate i dont fit susspension just wheels and tyres I'm afraid! I can fit you tyres and rims for you and make sure you have the best stance with out them catching!

but as i said if you stick to the size i have just mentioned you will be sound

ahh wikid, ok then

erm on ebay, is there only two differnt sizes of borbet A's and should i get deeper ones for the rear and normal ones for the front?

i dunno which ones to buy

do you have the item numbers mate il check em out for you!

by the borbet a's by the coilovers

I'm not 100% what size they come in..17's

but if there same as 16's

u will probs want 7.5 @ front and 9 @ the back

id band some 195/40's on the 7.5's and 205/40's on the 9's

make sure the et is about 35ish on the back.

but i do think that borbet a's are a bit old skool for a new car

yeah I'm starting to think they might look a bit oldschool, a bit too much, I'm liking these alloys tho: here

i say buy some lm reps and some coilovers it will look awsome and not that expensive

ok so now i want some lm reps, where can i buy em? and what size do you think would look best mate?

Anyone got any links to LM reps they are swreet !

Hunt on ebay... you'll find them... plus i presume wheel mania sell them.

Smallest size is 16" though.

I'm seriously considering them though... i've got my hands on some RMs but the LMs look so much fresher!

What width are those LMs Wayne?
