Polo 6n offset limits

Featured Replies

Hi guys probably been asked b4 but I have searched it to no avail! What's the maximum +\- offset you can have on a 6n without rubbing on 15s (Any one know what tyres I would need for same rolling diameter as my standard 6n steelies?) and also if I found some wheels at say 56.1 mm centre bore and my 6n is 57.1 could I just sand the centre bore out or should I do it properly and get them drilled?

Cheers!

not sure about the offset limits but i'm sure you could work out what tyres you need to get to get some rolling diameter as steelies. what is the size of the steely wheel and tyre that is normally used on a 6N? i actually don't know..

and also, i can't see what's wrong with sanding out the centre bore yourself. i would use a file instead of sanding though as +1mm of abrasion through metal is probably alot just using paper. it should be fine and doesn't have to be spot on.. but then again i'm not an engineer

depends on the width of the wheel mate, e.g. 8j et 25 would stick out about an inch more than 6j et 25, so we're gonna need widths.

rolling radius question - also requires widths as the profile is a proportion of the width, but i'm guessing if you were going for wider than 6j, you'd just stretch 195s anyway. So i'll say 195/45 is as close as you're gonna get.

measurements of my steelies et 35 13"x4.5j 155/75/r13

measurements of my alloys as i read them on the alloy 5.5jx45 *H2-45* (*i dont know what the last bit means*)

well the alloys i have are 5.5jx15 cant find the offset? maybe the *H2-45* is the offset so that could mean there et45 (would make sense as my 6n steelies are et35, and there wider?)

so what size tyres for same rolling radius and a nice bit of stretch (not alot though, just subtle)

also if the offset is ok for my car then how much could i space them out without illeagle poke? cheers

they will stick out about 3mm more than your steels mate, so you should be able to space them 20mm no probs, but wouldn't bother stretching, not wide enough to need it, and skinny wheels with stretched rubber fails

i thought they would have too much et and i would need to space em out n end up with poke so if i can do it without strech thats sick, so the rubber i need for them is ???/45/15

i have asked a guy who had the same rims on a mk2 polo what the et is, so i know they fit a mk2 with 60/40 drop with no rubbing, so spaced out they will still be even better!

cheers danny, did u get my pm???

has anyone got any pics of 15" on the same rolling radius???

sorry about my vaugeness of what the rims are i just want them to be abit different!

195/45/15??? How much should I pay for half decent tyres? Seen nankang on eBay £28 each?

ye mate got pm, keep forgetting to take some! erm mine are on 45s look here these will all be on 45s

i wouldn't whinge at 28 squids, if you print off your online tyre quote a lot of places will match it on the spot - no waiting around!

Nice one cheers! Erm what's the 195 part reffering too? Also danny do u know a place by us that will do nankangs as I've heard good stuff about em I only know of kwikfit tbh and they've given 2 of my mates a duff tyre! Lol

LK performance in cleckheaton are good apparently, i got my last decent set from t'interweb then took them to Baildon Rubber Co. for fitting, brc will supply them too i reckon but i'd ring ahead because they'll have to order them in. Cottingley tyres is worth a look if you're on a budget, he often gets decent brand part worns in with fuck all milage, garage looks a bit ghetto but they do the job! I run budget shite on my solitudes as they're temp so i just go wherevers cheapest for them

195 is the width mate

ah so 5.5j is 195? my wheels are a my bros in bradford so i cant get any measurement other than the ones I've already got but the ebay listing from my wheels says its got 175/65/15, so would 195 be too wide?

these wheels will eventually be my winters so mediocore ones would do for now! i would keep those spots in mind!

cheers for the info

these are the tyre i have seen as a set

Ok well i found on google some 175/50/15s for abiut £35 a piece but just wondered I any one knows anywhere cheaper and which out of the 2 I've found a better quality kumho, or hankook? Cheers

depends on the width of the wheel mate, e.g. 8j et 25 would stick out about an inch more than 6j et 25, so we're gonna need widths.

No it wouldn't it would stick out 2 inches more lol

One inch either side wouldn't it? Yea sorry bout nicking you avatar and changing it mate! Lol!

Exactly. Ye i had my suspicions about the avatar, i made the seats and wheels wider so they looked more like my car, didn't think it was a coincidence that yours were too!
