dont sell it steve!!! buy a daily please!!!! :D

Lets see what happens! I never keep cars for that long anyway... I get bored easily.

I'm also 21, over 6 foot and quite a large lad (I like to say stocky or broad! ) and the polo is a small car!!!!

Well tell him to send me some pics of the interior!!

Is it lowered quite a bit?

I might have seen it kicking around Chester-le-Street area, if not it was another nice looking Type-R. :)

if u get a type r that isnt an ek9 i will come down and hunt u and pop you are eyes out with a spoon!!!

VTEC kicked in yo!

Don't hate it! The EK9 is about as practical as my polo just slower. So I wouldn't see any benefit from that!

The EP3 is a modern looking car which (unless you know your cars) looks respectable in any occassion, it's comfortable, I can take my mrs's little sister in the back without her moaning her legs hurt, and it's useable power.

I seriously think that the polo has too much power for FWD... if the roads are anything but perfectly dry and the tyres are warm the power is wasted.

I also love VTEC!!!! I don't care what people say about it, as an everyday car it's perfectly quiet and sensible and easy to drive, give it some shit though and get those revs up and it turns into a noisy chuckable japcrap box which makes you smile. It just seems like a sensible move.

If I was still 19, not needing my car for work and not giving a shit what my mrs thinks i'd probably be keeping the Polo for life... but i'm not!

hahaha that last sentence sounds exactly like me mate!

 I wish I was mate! I've been in Recruitment since I was 16... So every car I've had has had to be a comprimise... I nearly lost my car allowance for one company cos I stripped my 106 GTI out so I couldn't carry Temps around in it... it sucks.

Atleast an EP3 will still look smart enough, fun enough and practical enough... it ticks every box.

My TT was perfect... why did I get rid!?!?!?!?!?!?

*writing not wrighting Simon!!!

I don't mind being zero... It's no fun being a hero!

lol, he's a old fart, lets not talk to him anymore. He's starting to talk babble

Polo over a Civic anyday! Don't get rid Steve!

Duuuuude how comes you're selling up? Awesome car this!

I'm not 100% sure yet. It's an excellent car and when I'm not driving to work and back it makes me smile constantly. BUT i don't get to drive it for fun as much as I'd like to... my mrs doesn't really like it (coming from a TT i kinda understand!) and driving it is quite tiring.

I'd like to keep it and get something daily but then i'm not a fan of driving some shitty car everyday and having my nice car wrapped up for 5 days a week.

So do I get something more sensible as a daily ie R32 / 330ci or an e46 M3 (depending on insurance).

None of the above would be any quicker or as much fun as the polo BUT all of them would be much more comfortable and practical for everyday use. The other issue is I use my car for business (i'm a recruitment consultant)... now going to Clients isn't 'much' of an issue but meeting applicants at train stations and taking them to clients is a massive issue! It's not exactly business like is it!!!!!!!

But as stated in my advert in pistonheads i'm not 100% i wanna sell nor am i in any rush... I will probably still have it after christmas and it'll have some new wheels and a nice interior... just have to see how things go i guess.

Exactly the same reasons and situation i was in with it....its just sooo much fun in the dry though!

 I thought it'd be ok... I only drive 10 minutes to work. I'm probably gonna change the Interior a bit anyway... see if I prefer it with a nice set of recliners. I'm desperate for some R32 Konig's but all I keep coming accross is full interiors for big bucks and obviously door cards and rear seats are worthless to me.

I'm going to have a look at some Type R recaro's on the weekend to chuck in for now. I may put rear seats and a parcel shelf back in so it's a bit more practical!

It is without doubt fooking rapid and it makes me smile and even laugh and sometimes pooh myself everytime i drive it!

Ye, I really miss the power and shock on peoples faces! I think with a full interior it will be nice as my old Polo GTI was lovely as that had full leathers.

Oh yeah, nice and smooth now....

Looking good mate but the colour match looks really off???

it is haha....they really struggled, its going back in next wednesday to have it blown into the wing and sorted out...its come out a bit darker than the rest of the car. Strange thing is they did the scratches on the side of the car really well.

  • Author

hmm... possibly because the scratch down the side didn't have any panel joins in it so it was just blended in... where as the bumper joins with bloody everything on the TT!

If you do choose to sell up, give me a shout as I may well be in a position to buy the Polo as a weekend car.
