Well I'm running 195/45 Goodyear f1's. In the dry they're fine.

According to another thread on here with a scientific explanation (which i can't be arsed to explain!) the width of the wheel / tyre makes no difference to the tread on the road but the wider they are they disperse the heat better.

TBH with 280bhp+ going through the front wheels they're going to spin!

lol!! very true. perfect answer

Well there's still no updates unfortunately as loads has been going on personally with my job etc... so as i've not been online in a while i thought i'd do an update of my situation!!!!

Things are going to go 1 way or another very soon... will the polo stay or will it go is my current dilema...

Situatiuon is this...

I've gone back to working for a Recruitment Agency where I first started my career in Recruitment and the position I have been taken on to do involves managing a nationwide client so I'm in the car travelling around a few times a week.

My options are...

1) I can have a car allowance which makes a nice difference to my monthly income

OR

2) A company car (well not exactly... my md will give me a car, put it in my name, then take my car allowance off me each month until I've basically paid him the value of the car then it's mine and I'll recieve a car allowance) meaning I don't get stitched on tax.

OR

3) A proper company car where it's all paid for by them, no car allowance and i'll never own the car or get a car allowance whilst i have it but i won't pay a penny for it.

However...

If I take the car allowance it'll probably mean getting rid of the Polo and getting an Anniversary Golf TDI (or something along those lines) which could work out well with some coilies and 18" splits as the polo isn't ideal for long journeys nor would it be right putting loads of miles on it.

If I take the company car in my name it'd possibly mean losing the Polo too as I'd be paying the insurance / maintenance on the company car (which isn't really a company car  )

If I took the company car (properly) then I may still have to give up the Polo as imo it probably wouldn't be justifiable to keep as a weekend car (as it is fairly expensive) especially when I'm looking to buy my own house with my gf and the value of my polo would be fairly helpful plus I couldn't justify to her having 2 cars atm!!!!!

So decisions decisions but a fairly annoying one... chances are the Polo is going to have to go which is gutting to be honest.

Oh and the car i'll be getting will be an E46 BMW 330cd which is fully specced up, facelift model in the nice Grey colour with Black Leather... So I could stick some 19" CSL wheels on it with some coilies to make it look even better as imo it is a bloody sexy looking car!

On a good note I had a wicked play with a VR6 tonight! (which I did spank but it was still nice to have a play with another vdub!)

Well no one has really been seriously interested in it yet... I don't think people appreciate it as much as I do... I think it's worth £6k easily even with the defects it has (like the interior not being absolutely mint and the rev counter not working) but maybe i'm silly!

I'll probably end up keeping it as i'm not letting it go for less than £6k.

I may still have it when you're 21 wellse!

hahah! i say keep it mate. its a beauty :)

Well sold this little beast on Saturday.

I drove to North Wales on Sunday and picked this up...

Clio.jpg

You're all going to think i've gone mad but deep down i've always loved French hot hatches... Nothing else compares to the driving feel you get from them imo. I used to have a S1 106 XSI and a S2 106 GTI and I loved them both.

This is without doubt 1 of the nicest cars I've owned. It’s nice and refined when you want it to be and then it’s a little go kart when you want it to be.

It’s on Coilovers with a SS decat and cat back (stealth back box), panel filter with Cold air feed so should be over 180bhp, but it just feels so planted in the corners.

By far the best handling car I’ve owned.

More pics to come, I want to put 10mm rear spacers on, 300mm MOMO team steering wheel and carbon fibre front lip.

Let the slaughtering begin!

Somes gone a few levels down in coolness............... :)

Sorry mate, someone offered me a wedge of cash and I couldn't turn it down!

If it had of been my 2nd car i'd never of sold it. But as it is I just couldn't live with it on a daily basis. It was fun whilst it lasted but omg this clio is a lot of fun too whilst being fully driveable in the wet and very comfortable too.
