Turbo + carb = ghetto.

you can insure anything in theory, just depends how deep your pockets are, how much were you paying for the ibiza?

I'm 18, got 1 years NCB and just got a quote on my polo for £698 fully comp, with mani, zorst, induction kit, wheels and sus. done. and its a 1.6 :)

I recon you should stick dub, get a mk.2 gti or somthing :D

Just shy of £2k. But that was with a remap declared. That was 3 years ago now though.

Don't just look at the compare sites... phone specialist insurers up.

I think I was 19 when I had my S2 RST.

I'm torn to be honest though...

I'm bored of VAG really, but I'm not fussed if i go jap, french etc, i only care what the actual car is..

Most sites list Starlet GT Turbo imports, thats how i got quoted 1240 for one, but nearly no-one lists the Glanza V, Adrian Flux wanted 2900 ffs..

Got quoted just shy of 1800 for a Bimmer E30 Sport though 8-)

The Glanza V is an awesome little car.

I don't suppose Insurance would allow an Integra Type R DC2 or even better an EK9 Civic Type R????? They are amazing cars!!

look at s13 200sx aswell, punto gt are 1.4 turbos. id get a startlet personally

EK9's are SO expensive to buy, especially when you consider that a DC2 Integra could cost about £2.5k less and is prob. the better car.

I dunno about that! The EK9 is quicker, better look imo, handling differences won't be noticeable unless you're Lewis Hamilton!

DC2 is still a superb car... I used to love driving my mates (I used let him drive my Ibiza whilst i played in the ITR!)

EK9 is dreaming at the moment.. £5k for a decent one then about £1800 to insure, i prefer them to DC2's though i must say...

Glanza V was my original choice but as i said insurance is being shit about them and i cant be arsed to insure them as 'Toyota Starlet 1.3' (illegal), or just get a GT (same car, different looks..)..

Problem is I'm planning on going to the 'Ring next May so reliability is actually an issue now lol..

S13 y'say.. Mr. Core?

I'll get quotes....

Get a Glanza ,much better than a R5 GTT there more reliable as am sure most of teh guys would have told u . my mate had an R5 and it caught fire in his garden lol then he got anothe rone with his insurance money and that then went bang within a few days .not the best

However the glanza is a great little car i used to have one myself which i loved great fast cool little car .

few pics of my old one .

Then i got a set of these D2 Racing coilovers which cost me £1000

And heres one where i was up crail with it and this guy pilled up next to me in a 1.2 corsa going a want ti race you .lol see what happend

How old were you when you insured it? Thats the only thing stopping me..

I've had decent quotes for S13's but id rather wait a year and get a S14a, or a reverse Sileighty (PS13 Silvia body, pop-up light front end) with a ridiculous Origin Lab kit..... Oh yes it will happen.

Go and get a Banzai magazine and Jap Crap Performance  and phone the insurers in the back which specialise in imports!! You'll get insurance!!!

I love the lil Glanzas!

i was 18-19 with no NCB and it was only like £800 i got my mum to be the main driver and me as a named driver made it that little bit cheaper .

Good idea, I've got a few Banzai's so i'll go through the adverts..

Really need my own policy though, made the mistake of getting 'named driver NCB' before...

I can insure an AE86 Corolla for a grand too haha!

the photos were from a banzai meeting up at craiL 2 years ago and i got a photo in the magazine of the glanza going dwn the strip lol yeehaaa was ma first ever photo of ma car in any type of magazine lol

ae86 are only 1.6 16vs so thats not suprising, i was quoted 2k for a 200sx running 240bhp which is reasonable at 19

That sold for £6k before it went back to Holland.. i know i'll get one after the next car..

I'm paying £1600 at the mo and dont want to pay any more next year.. like i said i got quoted £1240 for a Starlet GT Turbo so i dont see the Glanza being £360 more....

ae86 are nice, but to much scene tax for a 1.6 n/a

They are pricey but they look cool as funk and are supposedly too much fun to drive!! We can't moan about scene tax when you see the amount of sheds on here asking for prices that are just :smoke:

get a GWANZAAA

my mate has one, its fooking amazing fun.

1.3 turbo!!! cheap tax etc and parts are endless
