hi everyone, iam new to the world of vw, I've just got my self a mk4 polo and iam keen on ratting it! any ideas on where to start iam thinking paint first thinking matt olive green? any banter on that ? cheers dean

In my opinion i don't think anything >1990 looks good ratted, i looks a bit fake and i just think that it could be a minter! Rat look should look naturall,

But to hell with it, its your car!

Just do what you want with it, don't be influenced by anyone on here, as you are new to VWs you probably don't no exactly what 'rat' is.

It's more than matt paint and a few stickers. Do what you feel with it then see if or what catergory it fits into.

Yeah but thats life, things look good so most people do it, which i don't think is something to argue about.

My idea of modding a car is to do what you like, mess around and whack a bit of your personality into it. For example some of the skateboarders cars look similar to their boards...all stickered up. Some people are clean cut and like their car to be the same etc
