That's my point really. I don't have the time or money to be running around like a headless chicken on Thusrsday morning wishing like hell I'd just bought new wheels because the one's I got off eBay (hypothetically) are duds!

So for those suggesting second hand wheels, I say again, NO! I don't want them! I want NEW ones! OK? Good!

Edit: Bugg'r it, just bought the Venoms. Really like 'em and a few people have said 15" is OK, so I've done the deed. Went for 195/45/15 tyres. Little more expensive, but managed to use a 25% code, so all in, with postage they came to £338 and some odd pence. Plus there's a 3 year warrenty on Wolfrace wheels, so I'll feel better about them and if I feel comfortable with new wheels I won't be worrying all the time that something might go wrong on a long journey like I have been doing. Hope they look as good on the car as they do in the pic!

Right, well, what a kerfuffle! Word of warning to anyone thinking of buying directly from Wolfrace... Don't bother! This is what happened to me:

Ordered from the website, put in car details: VW Polo 1999. When I got my confirmation e-mail it said (and I'm copying from the e-mail here):

WTF??? So I e-mailed them back stating what had happened and could they please ensure I got the correct wheels for my Polo. Pretty much as soon as I sent the e-mail I got a phone call from someone called Paul. He asked why there were two makes of car listed and I said I had no idea and that I'd just sent the e-mail staing that I've never owned a Nissan and I've never even heard of the model! He assured me that I'd get the correct wheels by Wednesday at the latest.

Wednesday came and lo and behold! Five stud wheels for a Nissan. Wonderful! As you guys know the reason I wanted new wheels was because I was off to Brum early Friday morning and my current wheels are knackered. So, I phoned right away and ended up having an argument whith this Paul chappie regarding the make of car I owned. Despite the fact I'd spoken to him 5 minutes after the order was placed and had confirmed, both in writing (to two seperate e-mail addresses!) and verbally that I needed four stud to fit a '99 Polo, he insisted that I'd put in Nissan! I've never owned a Nissan! Due to this major feck-up I had to get my old wheels re-balanced at a cost of £38, send the wrong wheels back and wait for a new set. They've just turned up (about 10 minutes ago) and now I find that, instead of having 4 holes for the wheel nuts, I've got 8! It looks to me like they've drilled holes for one offset and then drilled four more holes for another offset. They've done it so each set of two holes are right next to eachother, with perhaps a 1cm piece of metal seperating them. I don't know if this is safe. It doesn't look it! What do you guys reckon; should I send them back again, or will they be OK? I've not seen wheels like this before. All the alloys I've had over the years have just got the four holes with the correct offset.

They're different PCD's, not offsets.

And yes they're perfectly safe, loads of wheels have 2 PCD's, eg. 4x100 and 4x108..

Don't get 7's, they look rubbish, Too skinny, especially at those ridiculous offsets mentioned above? Et40???

what you on about, whats ridiculous about et40? thats the offset of my 15x7's mate.

Finally got them on! Yay! Have to say, they really do make handling that much better. Glad I plumped for the 15" now and didn't pay way more for 14". I love the style too, so overall I'm really chuffed. Here're a couple of pics:

Personally, that just goes to show you that buying new wheels can be a pain in the arse as well.

At least you sorted out your problems, although I personally can't stand 99% of wolfrace wheels as they look extremely chavtastic :(

Well, I'd rather have trouble with new wheels that they have to replace, than spend out twice. Can we lay this to rest now?

And, as a Metaler, I'd never entertain anything chavvy. You're entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to chose wheels I like. Personally I don't like filling the boot with subs and amps, but a lot of people do. I don't go around critacising their choices though.

Yeah, it was a real pain in the backside, but I got them eventually. I like the overall look now I've put clear indis and side repeaters on too. Just have to wait for Dubmeister to sort their e-mail system out so I can get the pressed plates and that'll be it for now. Gonna start saving for some coilovers, but I've got to pay for the service* first! Lol!

*I would normally do this myself, but it's got FSH and I think it best to keep it going.
