does anyone know wether or not the axl on the back is the same width on the front? The reason i ask is that I've lowered my polo right down on bbs ra, 14" by 6". Now I've had to put 5mm spacers on to stop the inside of the wheels catching the springs, this worked.also, the rear is 30mm higher than the front, but when i load the car full of my fat bastrd friends, the rears rub on the arches but the fronts dont rub at all. hence my wondering if the back axl is wider than the front.

any suggestions or answers would be appreciated, but i cant make my friends loose weight, even though I'm currently making them walk to band practice atm and i really dont want to raise it anymore.

No, they're the same width, but the front arches on any car have to give more clearance because the front wheels turn and the rears don't. Hence why your rears will scrub when you lower it.

I'm pretty sure the rear axles on the 6n are longer than the front. Especially from the way that my wheels sit.

I'm running 13x7's with an et -7.

I had a problem on the fronts, the brake caliper was catching and so I ground the caliper down a bit and stuck some 5mm spacers on and STILL the rears poke a good bit more than the front.

This alone leads me to suggest a wider rear axle.

Take the back seats out...problem solved

did you ever stop to think maybe its the archs that are different not the axles ?
