i second smithy's comment... one day i rang Quinn for a quote on my old lupo 1.4s all mods declared with the gf on policy 1 years named driving experience and it was just under £1000 for the year... i didn't take the policy out because i had a month left with DL until i got my 1st renewal. A month and a half later i rang Quinn again to get a quote for the same car and mods and it was £2300... sounds like I'm lying but i shit you not.

i told em id wait for the insurance to go down and would ring again ( 3 months after this i managed to get a new lupo sport ) and i insured it with them for £1400 all mods declared with gf on.

so yep.. very hit and miss... they told me it was soo high because that month there was a sudden in accidents.

Wow how did you get your insurance so low? mine is like £220 a month and I'm 19, and I'm not even the main driver I'm the 3rd driver.

Is your insurance on third party or fully comp?

Quinn are VERY hit and miss...

£5k for my polo...without mods decalred, the woman on the other end of the phone "asked was this inline with other quotes" and seemed genuinely shocked when i told her that all other quotes were around £300 -£800 with mods declared.

Just had a quote with quinn their for a 316 beemer for 1250 when i turn 18, so gona buy the BMW tomorrow and swap cars on the insurance, how much to quinn charge for declaring mods, iv not declared anything so far.

For me to get insured on the BMW it was like £6000, how do you get it so low?

Id like to know how people can insure Beemers at 18 for 1250..

My first car (when i was 16) was an e36 318is coupe (the 143 bhp 1.8 16v model) It had full m3 kit etc and m3 alloys and when i tried to get insurance it was £2700 that i got quoted. Hence the reason i settled for the valver.

It was a beautiful car to drive (very different driving position compared to any other car i have drove. Just felt so right) I will defo buy another in a couple of years. Will be an M3 though or a 328 because it would feel as i would be going backwards to a 318is again.)

Oh and "thedj" my insurance is fully comp. Noticed in quite a few cases it was cheaper than third party etc.
